Don't confuse SGI New Age with the Lotus Sutra Buddhism of Nichiren Daishonin.

No where in the writings of Nichiren Daishonin is confidence [as in self confidence] mentioned. On the other hand, SGI and all New Age teachings stress confidence ["self confidence"]. Nichiren stresses faith which he discusses more than five hundred times. True confidence is faith in the Law, the Buddha, the True Votary of the Lotus Sutra, universal Buddha-nature, and the eternal nature of our lives. Don't confuse SGI New Age with the Lotus Sutra Buddhism of Nichiren Daishonin.

  1. There is nothing wrong with having self esteeme. In fact it is something that doesnt cone easy and thats why I joined but to think that you are so powerful and great that you can have whatever you desire just because you sit in front of a piece if paper and chant/ demand it come to you is the opiomy of arrogance and stupidity.

  2. Of course Pamela. "self confidence" is not the same as self esteem. There are four powers: The power of the Law; the power of the Buddha; the power of faith; and the power of practice...two self powers and two other powers.
