The Nichiren Shoshu has changed the principle of Montei in order to change the doctrines of Buddha and theTransmission. Montei, according to Nichiren Daishonin, are the teachings hidden in the depth of the Lotus Sutra that were revealed by
Nichiren himself. The Nichiren Shoshu have extrapolated Montei to mean the
teachings of Nichiren Daishonin hidden in the depths of his writings. Nichiren stated, "Now everything has been revealed." The Nichiren Shoshu's use of the of Montei is false and self serving. All the Montei teachings have been revealed by Nichiren Daishonin and there is nothing left for the successive High Priests but the gleanings. Just as the Nirvana Sutra is inferior to the Lotus Sutra, the Nichiren Shoshu faith is inferior to the Nichiren faith.
