Actually, there are SGI priests in several countries where Buddhist priests are highly regarded. In Singapore and Ghana, for example, SGI so-called Domei [reform] priests are sanctioned. They perform traditional priestly duties such as officiating at marriage ceremonies and funerals. Those SGI leaders and members who state there are no priests in the Soka Gakkai are either ill-informed or lying.
