The SGI "sparkle test" doesn't pass the smell test

According to Nichiren Daishonin the "sparkle test" doesn't pass the smell test. Someone mentioned that he met some members of another Nichiren school and their eyes didn't sparkle like Kathy and Terry Ruby's of the Soka Gakkai. Well, according to Nichiren Daishonin, one thing can be ascertained, Kathy and Terry are sometimes in the World of Rapture. Nichiren writes:

"When we look from time to time at a person's face, we find him sometimes joyful, sometimes enraged, and sometimes calm. At times greed appears in the person's face, at times foolishness, and at times perversity. Rage is the world of Hell, greed is that of Hunger, foolishness is that of Animality, perversity is that of Anger, joy is that of Rapture, and calmness is that of Humanity. These worlds, the six paths, are present in the physical appearance of the person's face. The remaining four noble worlds are hidden and dormant and do not appear in the face, but if we search carefully, we can tell that they are there." -- The True Object of Worship

Question How then can we tell that the Four Noble Worlds are present?

Answer: Through the noble human behaviors of honesty, kindness, compassion, mercy, justice, forbearance, magnanimity, and protecting the teachings we can tell that the Noble Worlds are manifest.
,
SGI leaders, on the other hand, are great liars who destroy the noble teachings of the Lotus Sutra and Nichiren Daishonin and work tirelessly to bring their fellow SGI members into the Lower Worlds.

  1. I have actually experienced a heavy greasy energy coming from the most highest senior leader of the SGI in the country.

I have known some scoundrels in my day but I haven't experienced anything as quite as bad as that before and hope I will never again because it was on the same category as Foul, stench, putrid rotten etc. I could also sense this in other members to a lessor degree who were closer to that Disciple of Ikeda

IT stands to reason that further we go away and are against the correct teachings the more wasted we become

When the Four Noble Worlds aren't present there is the opposite to noble human behaviours of honesty, kindness, compassion, mercy, justice, forbearance, magnanimity, and protecting the teachings, we can then see from their behaviour how much of a Slime Bag they have become

The saying is true that the apple seldom falls far from the tree.

The Shoshu tree and the Gakkai apple are both diseased

We can see how twisted teachings create sick, twisted dishonest malicious cruel infantile nasty etc. individuals like Dirham

Shoshu try to hide their ugly faces but now and then one them goes AWOL and reveals how disgraceful they are back at the compound where the filth is compacted to bursting point. Dirham can be likened to some untreated sewerage from a burst main at the foothills of Eagle Peak

  8. Dirham, please explain to me why your 57 high priest, abe nissho signed a petition with the chief abbots of the various nichiren sects tohave the emperor bestow the name 'rissho daishi' on nichiren. Why did he do gongyo with them? Why did he become the principal of the kempon hokke training center created by honda nissho?

  10. An SGI member once arrogantly wrote me:

"...It would be no small matter if those who slander me were to incur no punishment from Heaven in their present body. So those deities [who fail to punish them] will not only be destroyed throughout past, present and future, but even now are surely being called upon to account to the Buddha for their actions. And when that happens, it will be no fault of Nichiren's! Rather, by siding with those priests who slander the Law, they are summoning disaster upon themselves." MWV 5, pp 203.... Observe Mark!
    Another SGI member wrote:

"It is a world where laity is always second or third class--where Nikken is the biggest dog of 'em all and you can never be more than a toy poodle."

Nichiren Daishonin pointed his disciples to The Buddha Shakyamuni of the Juryo Chapter of the Lotus Sutra and to the Law, to avoid any confusion as to whom and what we should follow.

"Demonstrating ten great mystic powers the Buddha (Shakyamuni) transferred Namu Myoho renge Kyo to the four great bodhisattvas" (Ibid pg 77)

Who transferred Namu Myoho renge kyo to the four great bodhisattvas?

"Shakyamuni is the original teacher for all people as well as their soverign and their parent" (MW vol 1, Admonitions Against Slander, pg 166)

Who is the original teacher for all people?

"Shakyamuni is the father, soverign and teacher of all other Buddhas and all gods, of the whole assembly of men and heavenly beings and of all sentient beings." (MW vol 1, Letter to Nikke, pg 257)

Who is the father, teacher and sovereign of all sentient beings?

"But because of this book by Honen, this Senchaku Shu, the Lord Buddha Shakyamuni is forgotten." (MW vol 2, Rissho Ankoku Ron, pg 23)

Nichiren Shoshu and SGI members forget Lord Buddha Shakyamuni.

"One should know that the Enlightened One, the Buddha, is a Great Teacher for all living beings, a Great Eye for them, a Great Pillar, a Great Helmsman, a Great Field of Plenty." (MW vol 2, Opening of the Eyes, pg 77)

"The doctrines that the Buddha taught over a period of fifty years number eighty thousand...The eight years during which he preached the Lotus Sutra he called the time when he 'now must reveal the truth'. Thus Taho Buddha came forth from the earth to testify that 'All that you have expounded is the truth,' and the Buddhas that are emanations of the Original Buddha gathered together and extended their tongues up to the Brahma-heaven in testimony." (MW vol 2, Ibid, pg 79)

  11. Not clear? Only the Fuji schools, the NBAA, and their adherents could be so blind as to misidentify the Eternal Buddha.

"The Buddhas of the ten directionss gathered in assembly, Shakyamuni Buddha announced that 'all of these are emanations of my being." (MW vol 2, Ibid, pg 141)

    and

"When Shakyamuni Buddha revealed that he had gained enlightenment in the far distant past and had since then been constantly in the world it became apparent that all the other Buddhas were emanations of Shakyamuni." (MW vol 2, Ibid, pg 149)

All Buddhas are emanations of Shakyamuni Buddha. It is SGI and Nichiren Shoshu SGI who do not practice according to the preachings.

"Since the Buddha of the Juryo chapter is revealed as the eternal Buddha, it follows that the great bodisattvas such as Monju and Miroku and the great bodisattvas from other realms are in fact disciples of Shakyamuni Buddha." (MW vol 2, Ibid, pg 150)

    and

"All these beings are discples of Shakyamuni Buddha. Since the various Buddhas themselves are emanations of Shakyamuni Buddha, it goes without saying that their disciples must be disciples of Shakyamuni. And of course the various deities of the sun, moon and stars, who have dwelt in the world from countless ages in the past must likewise be disciples of Shakyamuni Buddha." (MW vol 2, Ibid, pg 152)

All these beings, even the greater bodhisattvas such as Anryugyo, Jogyo, Jyogyo, Muhengyo, Nichiju, Nikko, and the other Bodhisattvas of the Earth, Tientai and Nagarjuna are disciples of Shakyamun Buddha of the Juryo chapter. However, SGI and NST priests and members, are not his disciples [because they have been misled by evil teachers such as Daisaku Ikeda and Nichikan].

"The Lotus Sutra is nothing other than a scripture that reveals that Shakyamuni Buddha attained enlightenment at a time even more distant than gohyaku-jintengo." (MW vol 2, Letter to the Priests of Seicho-ji, pg 268)

Long before any other, Shakyamuni Buddha attained enlightenment and then taught all beings the sum of his Supreme Enlightenment, Myoho renge kyo.

"Now the votaries of the Lotus Sutra are the children of Shakyamuni Buddha." (MW vol 3, Ibid, pg 49)

Not the children of Nichikan, Nichinyo, Ikeda

"The Lord Shakyamuni assembled Taho Buddha as well as the other Buddhas, who were his own emanations, from throughout ten directions and left one great medicine-the five characters of Myoho renge Kyo-for the people of the Latter Day." (MW vol 3, The Munadala of the Mystic Law, pg 58)

    Who left us the medicine?

"Lord Shakyamuni treasured this Gohonzon in mind...He revealed it in the Juryo chapter..." (MW vol 3, Reply to Nii-Ama, pgs 64-65)

  12. Who revealed the Gohonzon?

"Shakyamuni Buddha, the World Honored One, declared, 'I am the foremost throughout the threefold world." (MW vol 3, Ibid, pg 176)

Nichiren Daishonin points out that Shakyamuni declared, "I am the foremost throughout the threefold world". Ikeda declares Nichiren foremost but really means himself. Nikken declares himself foremost. The ignorant among the SGI members declare themselves foremost. Are you counted among the ignorant? Was Nichiren? Am I be counted among them? Think about this carefully.

"However, they are alike in that they all abandoned Shakyamuni Buddha," and in the next paragraph he states, "If there is anyone among my followers who is weak in faith and goes against what I, Nichiren, say, he will meet the same fate as did the Soga family." (MW vol 3, The Supreme Leader of the World, pg 237)

There are countless examples in the SGI and Nichiren Shoshu of their members receiving punishment. Nichiu developed white leprosy. Nikkyo burned up in a conflagration while his entrails remained. President Ikeda's first born son died of a bleeding ulcer. In this day and age that is nearly unheard of! Mr. Kasahara's first born son died from a massive brain injury. George Williams children are sociopaths. A top SGI senior leader was killed in the early eighties when a snow plow ran over his car. Another, in Detroit, died when a heavy metal stage hook took off the top of his skull. A men's division bagpiper was killed and mutilated by the Manson family on the way back from bagpipe practice. NST members Bill Vogel and Brad Nixon are other examples.

"They are monks and nuns by virtue of the Lord Shakyamuni." (Ibid, pg 65)

Nichiren, Nikko, Nissho, Nichiju, Nikkyo and Rev. Kubota, for example, are monks by virtue of Lord Shakyamuni. Those who abandon Shakyamuni can not even be considered monks. They are no better than beasts.

"There are three reasons why Shakyamuni Buddha rather than any of the other Buddhas has a relationship with all the people of the world of the saha world. First of all, he is the World Honored One, the soverign of all the people of this saha world...

The second reason is that Shakyamuni Buddha is the father and mother of all the persons in the saha world. It is proper that we should first of all pay filial respect to our own father and mother...

The third reason is that Shakyamuni is the original teacher of all persons in the saha world." (Ibid, pgs 65-66)

    Perfectly clear!

  13. "For this reason, all the persons in this saha world of ours, if they detest the sufferings of birth and death and wish to have an object of veneration to which they can pay respect, should first of all fashion images of Shakyamuni Buddha...and make these their object of worship." (Ibid, pg 69)

We should first of all fashion and pay respect to the Gohonzon, the image of Lord Shakyamuni Buddha of the Juryo Chapter of the Lotus Sutra. Certainly, we shouldn't fashion and pay respect to 200 square foot photographs of Daisaku Ikeda.

"Shakyamuni Buddha our father and mother, who is endowed with the three virtues of soverign, teacher and parent, is the very one who encourages us, the people driven out by all the other Buddhas, saying, 'I alone can save them'. The debt of gratitude we owe him is deeper than the ocean, weightier than the earth, vaster than the sky. Though we were to pluck out our two eyes and place them before him as an offering until there were more eyes there than stars in the sky, though we were to strip off our skins and spread them out by the hundreds of ten thousands until they blanketed the ceiling of heaven, though we were to give him our tears as offerings of water and present him with flowers for the space of a hundred billion kalpas, though we were to offer him our flesh and blood for innumerable kalpas, until our flesh piled up like mountains and our blood overflowed like vast seas, we could never repay a fraction of the debt we owe to this Buddha!" (Ibid, pg 71-72)

We owe our greatest debt to Shakyamuni Buddha [as did Nichiren]. As the leader of the Bodhisattvas of the Earth, Nichiren Daishonin (Jogyo) knew perfectly well that Shakyamuni is the Master of Teachings and the person to whom we owe our deepest gratitude and allegiance. If we are Bodhisattvas of the Earth, we should follow the example of our leader Nichiren Daishonin, not the poor example of Ikeda, Nichikan, or your joint territory chief.

"Japan and so on to the whole of Jambudvipa should uniformly take the Master of Teachings Lord Shakya of the Original Doctrine as the Object of Worship". (Hoon Sho).

Perfectly clear. If you wish to practice the Daishonin's teachings rather than some inferior teaching, you should take Lord Shakya of the Original Doctrine as your Object of worship and chant Namu myoho renge kyo.

"I have dedicated my life to Shakyamuni Buddha and the Lotus Sutra, extending compassion to all living beings and rebuking slanders of the Law." (MW vol 5, A Sage and an Unenlightened Man, pg 107)

The Daishonin dedicated his life to Shakyamuni Buddha. Why do you dedicate your lives to Nichinyo, Nikken, Nichikan, or Ikeda?

"When Shakyamuni Buddha in the clouds above the Sacred Mountain, in the mists of Eagle peak, summed up the essence of the doctrine and entrusted it to the bodhisattvas of the earth, what do you suppose that teaching was? It was nothing other than these five characters, the essential law;" (Ibid, pg 110)

  14. We owe our most sincere gratitude to Shakyamuni Buddha.

"I Nichiren, humble person though I am, have recieved Lord Shakyamuni's royal command and come to this country of Japan." (MW vol 5, The Pure and Far Reaching Voice, pg 143)

Nichiren received the royal command of Lord Shakyamuni, not the command of the commoners Makiguchi, Toda, Nikken or Ikeda.

"Shakyamuni Buddha is the lord of all Buddhist teachings, the leader and teacher of all human beings." (Ibid, pg 143)

Shayamuni is our leader and teacher.

"And among the Sutras, the Lotus Sutra is a manifestation in writing of Shakyamuni Buddha's intent; it is his voice set down in written word." (Ibid, pg 147)

The Lotus Sutra is the intent of Shakyamuni Buddha.

"Shakyamuni Buddha and the written words of the Lotus Sutra are two different things but their heart is one. Therefore, when you cast your eyes upon the words of the Lotus Sutra you should consider that you are ,beholding the living body of the Buddha Shakyamuni." (Ibid, pg 147)

When you slander Shakyamuni Buddha, you are slandering the written words of the Lotus Sutra, the Gohonzon, and Namu Myoho renge kyo. This is why the people I mentioned above suffered divine punishment, not for any worldly misdeeds.

"However the Buddha recognizes each character as a golden Lord Shakyamuni.' This is the meaning of the statement that '[one who is able to hold this Sutra] thereby holds the Buddha's body'. Those who practice Buddhism but adhere to distorted views destroy this loftiest of Sutras." (MW vol 5, Reply to Soya Nyudo, pg 164)

The worst transgressors are Ikeda, Nikken, and their followers.

"Only the Lotus Sutra represents the wonderful teaching preached directly from the golden mouth of Shakyamuni Buddha, who is perfectly endowed with the three bodies." (MW vol 5, Letter to Myomitsu Shonin, pg 196)

Shakyamuni Buddha posseses all Three Bodies, the Manifest Body, the Reward Body and the Dharma body (Namu Myoho renge kyo.). Therefore, when you slander Shakyamuni Buddha, you slander Namu Myoho renge kyo.

"Shakyamuni, the Lord of Teachings, is the foremost sage in the saha world." (Ibid, pg 199)

Certainly, neither Ikeda nor Nichinyo is the foremost sage, let alone your Zone Chief, General Director, or local priest.

  15. "As we see from these passages of scripture, Shakyamuni, with his Buddha eye, observed the situation that would prevail at the begining of the Latter Day of the Law. If, when the age has arrived, there were to be no persons of the type the Buddha describes then the World-Honored One would be guilty of false and baseless talk. [And if that were to be the case, then] who would put faith in the theoretical and essential teaching of the Lotus Sutra, and in the doctrine of the eternally inherent Buddha Nature." (MW vol 6, Reply to Lord Hakiri Saburo, pg 40)

The doctrine of universal Buddha-nature that SGI calls its own derives from Shakyamuni Buddha. Believe and understand this and you [SGI] may be spared a fate worse than Honen's.

"Shakyamuni summoned the four bodhisattvas and entrusted them with the five characters of Myoho renge Kyo." (MW vol 6, Rebuking Slander of the Law, pg 60)

Of what need do we have for Nikken, Nichinyo, or Ikeda? How dare they teach that we must rely on them, rather than Shakyamuni Buddha.

"We see from the Sutra that only these four bodhisattvas had been the disciples of Shakyamuni, the Lord of Teachings, since the remote past." (Ibid, pg 62)

For this reason, we too put our faith in Lord Shakya of the Original Doctrine.

"The sons will disseminate the Law of the Father." (Ibid, pg 62)

When you alter his Law or teach the Law of another, you are injuring the Buddha, your father, causing him to bleed.. You are committing one of the Cardinal Sins of Buddhism. You are also breaking the unity of the Buddha's Sangha, another one of the Cardinal Sins.

"The nation of Japan today has turned its back on the Lotus Sutra and cast aside Shakyamuni Buddha." (MW vol 6, Letter To Ichinosana Nyudo, pg 99)

Exactly as the pitiful SGI and Nichiren Shoshu.

"Shakyamuni Buddha is the Parent of all living beings in this world." (Ibid, pg 100)

That includes even the lowest beings, those SGI and Nichiren Shoshu members who benefit from their father's Law yet deny and denounce their father.

"The Lord Buddha Shakyamuni is the enlightened teacher for all living beings in the country of ours. It is thanks to our teacher that we can understand who our parents are. It is owing to Shayamuni that we can distinguish black from white." (Ibid, pg 100)

    cont...

  16. Denying Shakyamuni Buddha his rightful place and failing to put their faith in Lord Shakya of the Original Doctrine, SGI and Nichiren Shoshu members remain deluded, unable to distinguish black from white.

"It will be hard indeed to find anyone who can preach the Lotus Sutra just as it teaches in the Latter Day of the Law of Shakyamuni Buddha." (MW vol 6, Three Tripitaka Masters, pg 118)

Please note this age is Shakyamuni Buddha's Latter Age. "Shakyamuni lives today; this is the age of the Buddha" (On the Buddha's Behavior)

"The Tathagata Shakyamuni, seated in the tower adorned with seven kinds of precious gems, entrusted the five characters of Myoho renge Kyo to Takahashi Nyudo." (MW vol 6, Reply to Takashi Nyudo, pg 124)

Shakyamuni Buddha entrusted us with the five characters of the Daimoku.

"Were it not for Shakyamuni, the lord of teachings, how could such blessings as these be bestowed?"

It is thanks to Shakyamuni Buddha that we enjoy the boundless benefit of the Law. He and his messenger Nichiren are true teachers. Those who appropriate the lofty position of Shakyamuni, be they priest or layman, are not even worthy of a nod, let alone a monetary donation. Don't waste your time with lesser spiritual advisers and "teachers". Please return to the source and abandon those SGI and NST ingrates.

"The Hokke [Lotus] sect is the sect founded by Shakyamuni." (MW vol 6, How Those Initially Aspiring to the Way Can Attain Buddhahood, pg 175)

This is why Nichiren Daishonin declared that he never founded any sect. He deferred to his teacher, Shakyamuni Buddha as would all men of humility. But not Ikeda, Nichikan, Nichiu, or Nikken. These are conceited men, egoists of the highest magnitude. Don't deceive yourselves that you will become happy revering them or worshiping their Gohonzon.

"Therefore [the sect based on] the Lotus Sutra is known as the Buddha-founded sect and is also called the Hokke Sect." (Ibid, pg 175)

The SGI and the Nichiren Shoshu throw out the twenty-eight chapter Hokke by denying the vital principles contained therein, especially the most vital of the vital principles, that Shakyamuni Buddha is the Original Eternal Buddha.

"The various other sects were founded by bodhisattvas or teachers in the period after the Buddha had entered nirvana....."

Nichiren Shoshu, SGI, Shingon, Zen, Ritsu, Pure Land, Tibetian, etc.

  17. ".....Should we now turn our backs upon the Buddha's decree and follow the sects established by the bodhisattvas and teachers?"

and suffer a fate worse than Honen?

"Or should we ignore the words of the bodhisattvas and teachers and follow the sect established by the Buddha." (Ibid, pg 176)

You would be wise to ignore the words of Nichiu, Nichikan, Nikken, Toda, Makiguchi and Ikeda and would be wise to take to heart the words of the Daishonin.

"The messenger of the Lord Buddha Shakyamuni has twice been paraded through the street." (MW vol 6, A Father Takes Faith, pg 242). This is self explanatory.

"Because Shakyamuni expounded the Lotus Sutra in order to repay the debt of gratitude he owed to his father and mother, Taho Buddha, who had come from the land of treasure purity, praised him as a Buddha of true filial piety. And the Buddhas of the ten directions assembled and declared him to be the most filial among all the Buddhas." (MW vol 6, OnFilial and Unfilial Conduct, pg 290)

Shakyamuni is the most filial of the Buddhas.

"The various Buddhas [other than Shakyamuni], since they are known as World Honored One, may be regarded as Sovereigns. But since they do not make their appearance in this saha world, they are not teachers. Nor do they declare that '...the living beings in it (this threefold world) are all my children'. Thus, Shakyamuni Buddha alone fulfills the three functions of sovereign, teacher and parent." (Ibid, pg 43)

Shakyamuni Buddha alone fulfills the three functions of Sovereign,Teacher, and Parent.

"The Shakyamuni Buddha who lived in a past even more distant than gohyaku-jintengo-became enlightened to the Lotus that is the entity of the Mystic Law. Thereafter, in age after age and lifetime after lifetime, he declared that he had attained the way and he revealed the fundamental principle of wisdom and reality." (MW vol 7, The Entity of the Mystic Law, pg 67)

Shakyamuni Buddha originally became enlightened to Namu Myoho renge kyo in the infinite past.

"In this passage, Shakyamuni Buddha explains that he is entrusting to the Bodhisattvas of the Earth, his original disciples, the five characters of Myoho renge Kyo which is the essence of the Lotus Sutra. Shakyamuni, who attained enlightenment countless Kalpas in the past, says elsewhere, 'By now the original vows that I made have already been fulfilled. I have converted all living beings and caused them to enter the Buddha way'(ibid pg 72).

This is absolutely clear. There is no other way to interpret correctly this passage or the other absolutely clear passages cited above. It is as the Lotus Sutra and Nichiren describe, "Just as the Buddha is the king of all Dharmas, so, too, is this Sutra the king of all Sutras."

Even if one were to preach some other sutra in the future (for example the Taisekaji preachings that Nichiren Daishonin, rather than Shakyamuni Buddha, is the Original Eternal Buddha), it could never happen that the teachings in the Lotus Sutra and Nichiren may be superceded.

  19. Data Regarding Taisekeji Priests and the So-Called PureLineage!

The heritage of Nichiren Shoshu has been broken not
once, but several times? It has allowed priests from
heretical sects to receive transmission. Regarding Boy
HP, can the "heritage" that the Priesthood speaks of, in
fact be transmitted to boys so young as to be clearly
incapable of fully understanding the teaching of Nichiren
    Shonin.

8th.. In the Nichiren Shoshu Seiten, p. 734, by
Horii-mai Nikkyo, it is written that the eighth High
Priest, Nichi-e, transmitted the Dharma to a layman,
Abura no Joren, not Nichi-u. This is in the records of
transmission of Taisekiji itself. (Fuji Shugaku Yoshu, v. 5,
    p.255, "Biography of Nichi-e")

9th..Nichiu..took heritage at 17 years old.
Nichi-u, the 9th High Priest of Taisekiji, who died of
    leprosy....

Several people have asked for some source references for
this story. The idea that a farmer from Fuji started the
rumor is not a documented source (and it sounds fishy,
    too...)

The source for the leprosy story is, of all things, from
    Nichiren Shoshu itself!

From the "Fuji-Shuo Gaku Yoo Shuo" (Fuji School of
Studies V.5 p.39) edited by Horii Nikkyo himself (the
greatest scholar of Taisekiji of this century and a High
    Priest, retired)...it says:

"The 9th generation of Taisekiji, Nichi-u, became a
    leper."

And again in Vol.7, p.44 of the above mentioned edition by
Horii Nikkyo, there is an attack against Nichi-u for various
transgressions. In the "Koomom Shoo-gi", p.211 (Orthodoxy
of the Nikko School) another reference to Nichi-u and his
    leprosy is made

One would ask why Horii Nikkyo would attack one of his
predecessors. The answer I got is that he was an honest
scholar and printed many things that were historically
accurate but not popular with Taisekiji. (He was, after all,
a former High Priest, and no one was about to criticize him)
It was Horii Nikkyo who said that he had no idea who
"Yashiro Kunishige" (the name on the dai-gohonzon) was, or
which story of how the mandala came into Taisekiji's
possession is true. Nichi-u himself said that Kunishige
transferred it to Taisekiji in the 15th Century, which
contradicts the story that he had it transferred to wood
from a paper gohonzon that had been "hidden" for two hundred
years. The popular version today is that the wooden mandala
was taken by Nikko from Minobusan to Taisekiji, but there is
no mention of such a large wooden mandala being brought to
Taisekiji. After all, it couldn't be concealed in someone's
sleeve and it is a heavy, obvious object.

  20. Nichi-do, the author of biographies of Nichiren, Nikko
and Nichimoku doesn't mention such a honzon at all. In
fact, there were no wooden Nichiren honzons until the
Muromachi period. Even Nikko forbade the inscription of
    wooden honzons...

It's interesting to note that all of the re-editions of
Horii Nikkyo's original compilation have been "revised" and
reformatted to omit all objectionable materials that he,
while alive, saw fit to print.

Another source reference about Nichi-u's leprosy is in
"Biography of the Patriarch (Nichiren)" by Nisshin of
Yooboo-ji (this temple supplied Taisekiji with High
Priests from the 15th to the 23rd one, because there
were no priests to serve that function at Taisekiji ).

Nichi-joo, the Abbot of Kitayama Honmonji, contemporary with Nichi-u, wrote, "Nichi-u went against the fundamental
intention of the founder (Nikko) and inscribed the board
honzon which had never been heard of before.....he received
the severe punishment for perverted wisdom and blasphemy
agaist the Dharma, becoming a leper, and in Sugiyama in the
province of Kai (Yamanashi) hiding himself away in shame, he
has died". It is historically recorded that he died in
Sugiyama, a very remote place, so that no one would see his
    condition.

Nichi-joo went on to say, with chilling accuracy, "If
Nichi-u's madness spreads throughout the world, both the
priests and the laity of the discipleship of Nikko will fall
to the unremitting hell. How sad for the future."

  22. Question:Who authorized the Nichiren Shoshu "Gohonzons" which were distributed to more than 500,000 Americans and how many remain?
Answer:The Nichiren Shoshu authorized them. Seven thousand or eight thousand remain.
    Question: Where are they now?
Answer: They are in Gohonzon "hell".
Question:Who has been spewing crap about the worthlessness of the 128 extant Nichiren Gohonzons?
Answer:The "Nichiren" Shoshu and Soka Gakkai. They will join their discarded "Gohonzons" in hell.

The Nichiren Shoshu blames the Gakkai for everything and visa versa. Who printed up those 500,000+ discarded Gohonzons that the SGI freely distributed? The Nichiren Shoshu. What really irks me is their hypocrisy. SGI and Nichiren Shoshu criticize us for disrespecting Gohonzon, merely for putting pictures of Gohonzon on the web [virtual Gohonzon] but they treat "real" Gohonzons like dirt. They are hypocrites and we won't let them get away with their lies and deceit. The fact is that the other Nichiren sects respect Gohonzon far more than the Soka Gakkai and Nichiren Shoshu. More than 90% of Gohonzon bestowed by us are protected and enshrined, not thrown into the garbage or rolled up in sock draws.

  23. The Lotus Sutra states, “We were once men of false views." and Nichiren writes, “If you are of the same mind as Nichiren, you must be a Bodhisattva of the Earth”. He also teaches, “In the same way, one who chants the daimoku as the Lotus Sutra teaches will never have a twisted mind.” (MW vol 5, Letter to Myomitsu Shonin, pg 196) and “They entirely look up to groups of icchantikas and rely on them as leaders and, reverencing blasphemers against the Dharma, make them national teachers. Taking up the Classic Filial Piety of Confucious, they beat their parents’ heads and, while chanting the Lotus Sutra of Lord Shakya with their mouths, they go against the Master of teachings.”

It is not merely the mechanical chanting of Daimoku that leads to Buddhahood.

The SGI and NST priests and members do not chant the Daimoku as the Lotus Sutra preaches. They therefore can not be considered Bodhisattvas of the Earth. Nichiren also says that unfilial children can never succeed their parents. Denying their own father, Shakyamuni Buddha and their mother, the Lotus Sutra, they are unfilial children, indeed! “Those who practice Buddhism but adhere to distorted views destroy this loftiest of Sutras.” (MW vol 5, Reply to Soya Nyudo, pg 164).

The SGI, NST, HBS, and Nichiren Shu practice Buddhism but adhere to distorted views. Once again, I ask, "can they be considered Bodhisattvas of the Earth?"

Again and again, Nichiren cites those who praise the Lotus Sutra but destroy it’s intent. Surely he is not speaking about the Bodhisattvas of the Earth. He then must be speaking about the SGI and NST members and priests. They destroy the Sutra’s intent by asserting the Transmission of the Lotus Sutra is through one sole individual, either a High Priest or the successive presidents of the SGI. They destroy the Sutra’s intent by chanting Namu Myoho renge kyo [Namu Lotus Sutra], while disgarding the Lotus Sutra. They chant Namu Myoho renge kyo to the Gohonzon, the Life and Land of Shakyamuni Buddha of the Juryo Chapter of the Lotus Sutra while abandoning Shakyamuni Buddha. They chant Namu Myoho renge kyo while deprecating the sincere and true Bodhisattvas of the Earth. What a strange group they are.

In Chapter 15 of the Lotus Sutra Maitreya states,

“All come and Worship the Buddha
and guard and keep this sutra.”

    He doesn’t say,

“All come and worship Daisaku Ikeda [or the succesive hgh Priests]and guard and keep the Human Revolution or NST ke lineage” [while throwing out Shakyamuni Buddha and discarding the Lotus Sutra].

  24. Nichiren states,

“And though people may claim to be disciples of Nichiren, if they do not possess some proof of that fact from my hand, you must not trust them.”

Proof is following his example and his writings, not the capricious arbitrary views of others. As long as you continue to be associated with the bad friends of the Soka Gakkai and Nichiren Shoshu, you will remain an unenlightened worldling. Nichiren never met Shakyamuni Buddha yet he stated in the Selection of Time, “Nichiren disciple of Shakyamuni Buddha.”

As far as their assertion that the SGI or NST teachings frees one from birth and death, that is not possible if one is to believe Nichiren Daishonin that the Lotus Sutra is the means:

“What I call the Heritage of the Great Thing Concerning Life and Death isnothing else than the Scripture, the Lotus of the Perfect Truth. For the Sacred Title of the Lotus was handed down from the two Buddhas, Sakya-muni and Prabhuta-ratna (Taho or “Many Treasures”), to the Boddhisattva Visista-caritra (Jogyo or “Eminent Conduct”), when the Buddhas appeared in the Heavenly Shrine, and from eternity the heritage has been kept without interruption.”

    In another writing, we read,

“Then to utter the Sacred Title of the Lotus with the conviction that the three are one — the three, that is, Sakyamuni, the Buddha who from eternity has realized Buddhahood; the Lotus Sutra, which leads all beings without exception to Buddhahood; and we, beings in all the realms of
    existence.”

How can you be one with Buddha Shakyamuni who from eternity has realized Buddhahood if you reject Him? Chanting mechanical daimoku with no conviction in Shakyamuni Buddha is not the way to free oneself from the fetters of birth and death.

On Establishing the Correct Teaching states:

“The host said: There are numerous passages that could be cited and a wide variety of proofs. For example, in the Golden Light Sutra we read: “[The four heavenly kings said to the Buddha], ‘Though this sutra exists in the nation, its ruler has never allowed it to be propagated. In his heart he turns away from it, and he takes no pleasure in hearing its teachings. He neither makes offerings to it, honors it, nor praises it. Nor is he willing to honor or make offerings to the four kinds of Buddhists who embrace the sutra. In the end, he makes it impossible for us and the other countless heavenly beings who are our followers to hear this profound and wonderful teaching. He deprives us of the sweet dew of its words and cuts us off from the flow of the correct teaching, so that our majesty and strength are drained away. Thus the number of beings who occupy the evil paths increases, and the number who dwell in the human and heavenly realms decreases. People fall into the river of the sufferings of birth and death and turn their backs on the road to nirvana.”

  25. The Selection of Time states:

“The Buddha says determining the future, “Depend upon the teaching, not upon the people. Bodhisattva Nagarjuna says, “If one depends upon the scripture it is a correct argument; if one does not depend upon the scripture it is an incorrect argument.” T’ien-t’ai says, “Again, if it conforms to the scripture, quote and use it. If there is no corresponding sentence or corresponding meaning, then one should not believe and accept. ” Dengyo says, “Depend upon what the Buddha taught, not upon the oral tradition.” If one follows these scriptures, treatises and commentaries, then one should not base oneself on dreams. Once should only treasure the passages in the scriptures and treatises…”

Since the SGI and NST abandons the scriptures, treatises and commentaries, what is it that they have faith in anyway? The words and oral teachings of Toda, Ikeda, and the succesive High Priests? I don’t see anything here about mentor Toda, Ikeda or any High Priest being necessary for Buddhahood or that new car or raise.

    Nichiren writes:

“The essential key to Nichiren’s disciples and followers is, namely, adherence to the Lotus Sutra.”

    The Lotus Sutra states:

“But if one, after the Buddha’s extinction,
In the midst of an evil world
is able to preach this sutra, this is indeed hard…..(LS Ch.11)

What the Soka Gakkai and Nichire Shoshu teache is not “this Sutra”. Neither 10,000,000 million SGI believers nor 1,500,000,000.00 Muslims, are equal to one believer who has faith in and teaches the golden words of the Sutra and Nichiren. Most SGI annd NST members haven’t even read the Lotus Sutra, they go by the hearsay of the mentor, the Human Revolution, the World Tribune, the High Priest, or the Di Nichiren. The SGI teachings on the Master-disciple relationship, value creation, receiving and giving guidance, no worth or role for the solitary Bodhisattva, the practice of shoju in this degenerate evil age, are all hearsay, oral teachings, which Nichiren completely rejected. How sad for you. How sad that you confuse our Buddhahood for anger or rapture. How sad that you confuse your anger and rapture for Buddhahood.

    Nichiren states:

“Then what teaching should the country of Japan learn if its people are to free themselves from the sufferings of birth and death? As for this question, the Lotus Sutra states, “After the Thus Come One has entered extinction, I will cause it [the Lotus Sutra] to be widely propagated throughout Jambudvipa and will see that it never comes to an end.”

  26. Note, it doesn’t say ‘Value Creationism”, “Human Revolution”, or “Taisekaji Mysticism”.

In the Opening of the eyes, we read:

“It is also laid down that one should “rely on sutras that are complete and final and not on those that are not complete and final.” We must therefore look carefully among the sutras to determine which are complete and final and which are not, and put our faith in the former. Bodhisattva Nagarjuna in his Commentary on the Ten Stages Sutra states, “Do not rely on treatises that distort the sutras; rely on those that are faithful to the sutras.” The Great Teacher T’ien- t’ai says, “That which accords with the sutras is to be written down and made available. But put no faith in anything that in word or meaning fails to do so.” The Great Teacher Dengyo says, “Depend upon the preachings of the Buddha, and do not put faith in traditions handed down orally.” Enchin, also known as the Great Teacher Chisho, says, ‘In transmitting the teachings, rely on the written words [of scriptures]. '”

Now, referring to the SGI’s outlandish slander of those who embrace the Daimoku but are not SGI members, for example, that we believers and critics of the SGI, are deluded and unhappy, the truth is, no one could be happier nor more aware than we. We uphold the sacred teachings of the Sutra and Nichiren Daishonin. Already, hundreds, if not thousands, have abandoned the SGI and embraced that which is orthodox, and not a few thanks to our sincere efforts. In the United States, over the last thirty years, the SGI gave out 600,000 Gohonzons and if we are to believe the World Tribune circulation, less than 40,000 SGI believers remain. What happened to the other 560,000 people who received the slanderous SGI Gohonzon? Do Bodhisattvas of the Earth give out sacred Gohonzon like candy? Do Bodhisattvas of the Earth fail to protect their precious comrades? One day those who left the SGI will return to the Daimoku of the Lotus Sutra. At that time they will return as Bodhisattvas of the Earth.

“The Sea of all Karmic Hindrences all arise from wrong thought: If you desire to repent of them, then sitting upright, think upon reality.” — The True Object of Worship

“They are persons who have abandoned a great doctrine and instead chose lesser doctrines. If we judge from examples in the past, they will probably suffer for countless kalpas in the three evil paths. It is persons such as these that T’ient’ai meant when he said, “If they encounter an evil friend, they will lose their true mind.” — On the Four Stages of Faith

“They cling to incomplete doctrines and are attached to receiving alms and being treated with deference; they recognize only false doctrines, distance themselves from good friends, approach with familiarity such slanderers who delight in attachment to the teachings of the lesser vehicle, and do not believe in the great vehicle. Therefore they slander the Law of the Buddhas.

  32. "If there is anyone among my followers who is weak in faith and goes against what I, Nichiren, say, he will meet the same fate as did the Soga family." (The Supreme Leader of This World).

"Now, the same could be said of disciples of Nichiren. If they believe in, respect, follow, and obey me in name only without heart, they will no doubt suffer in the Hell of Incessant Suffering for the period of one, two, ten, or one hundred, if not one thousand, kalpa. If you wish to be saved from this, you should each practice just as the Medicine-King Bodhisattva did; he set his arm afire to offer it as a light to the Buddha; or Gyobo Bonji, who skinned himself to write the dharma on his own skin. Just as Sessen Doji and Suzu Danno did, you should sacrifice your own life or serve your masters from the bottom of your heart in search of the dharma. Otherwise, you should beseech the Buddha for help, bowing to Him with your four limbs and face touching the ground, dripping with sweat. Otherwise, you should pile up rare treasures in front of the Buddha as an offering to Him. If that is not possible, you must become servants to the upholders of the dharma. Or you should practice some other ways according to the principle of the four ways of teaching. Among my disciples those whose faith is shallow will show at the moment of death the sign of falling into the Hell of Incessant Suffering. Do not blame me for it then! (A Tract Revealing the Gist of the Rissho Ankoru-ron)

Again, speaking about his own disciples, he states:

"The doctrine concerning the theoretical and essential teachings is not my own [but was expounded by the Buddha] Those who would distort it can only be possessed by devils, and will topple others as well as themselves into the great citadel of the hell of incessant suffering. How foolish thaey are! Teach others clearly as I have taught you these many years. Those who call themselves my disciples and practice the Lotus Sutra should all practice as I do. If they do so, Shakyamuni, Taho and all the buddhas of the ten directionsas well as the Ten Goddesses will protect them. Yet for all that [some people around Ota Jomyo distort the teaching]. I can not fathom their minds. Priest Nichigyo's (Sammi-bo) death was indeed pitiful....." (Establishing the Four Bodhisattva's as the Object of Worship).

The third chapter of the Lotus Sutra states,

"They dwell in hell so long that they come to think it as natural as playing in a garden, and the other evil paths seem like their own home."

Those who execute the ten evil acts fall into the hell of Tokatsu or Kokujo and there must spend five hundred lifetimes or one thousand hell-years. Those who execute the five cardinal sins fall into the hell of continuous suffering and after staying there for one medium aeon, are born again in this world.

Why is it, then, that those who forsake the Lotus Sutra collapse into the hell of persistent despair and have to stay there for such an unimaginably great number of aeons? The sin of abandoning one's faith in the sutra must at the time seem nowhere near as horrible as killing one's parents. However, even if one killed his parents in one, two, ten, one hundred, one thousand, ten thousand, one hundred thousand, one million or even one billion lifetimes, he would not have to tarry in hell for a period as long as sanzen-jintengo.

Even if one were to kill one, two, ten, one hundred, one thousand, ten thousand, or as many as one billion Buddhas, would he have to dwell in abyss for as long as gohyaku-jintengo?

  33. The three groups of men of Understanding, however, had to agonize through the period of sanzen-jintengo, and the great boddhisattvas, through that of gohyaku-jintengo, because of the sin they practiced by discarding the Lotus Sutra. This shows what an unimaginably beastly sin it is.

To put this directly, if one strikes at the air, his fist will not hurt, but when he hits a rock, he feels pain. The sin of killing an evil person is slight, parallelled to the sin of killing a good person, which is consequential. If one kills someone who is not his kin, it is like striking mud with his fist, but if he kills his own parents, it is like hitting a rock. A dog may bark at a deer and not have its skull broken, but if it barks at a lion, its intestines will rot. Ashura tried to ingest the sun and the moon and had his head split into seven pieces. Because Devadatta harmed the Buddha, the earth split open and absorbed him alive. The seriousness of a sin depends on whom one harms.

The Lotus Sutra is the eye of every Buddha. It is the ageless master of Shakyamuni. If one disposes of one character or even a single dot, his sin is weightier than that of one who kills his parents ten million times over, or even of one sheds the blood of Buddhas everywhere in the cosmos. This is why those who cast the Lotus Sutra had to suffer for as long as sanzen-jintengo or gohyaku-jintengo.

Moreover, it is extremely hard to meet a person who teaches this sutra exactly as it reads. It is even more difficult than for a one-eyed turtle to find a piece of floating sandalwood or for someone to dangle Mount Sumeru from the sky with a fiber from a lotus stem.

Great Teacher Tz'u-en was the pupil of Priest Hsuan-chuang and the instructor of Emperor T'ai-tsung. He was a saint who was not only well-versed in the Sanskrit and Chinese scriptures but had memorized all of the Buddha's sutras. It is said of him that the Buddha's ashes fell from the tip of his writing brush and that light gleamed forth from his teeth. His contemporaries regarded him as though he were the sun and the moon, and men in later ages enthusiastically sought out his teachings as guides for living. Even so, the Great Teacher Dengyo condemned him, writing, "Even though he applauds the Lotus Sutra, he demolishes its heart."

The quotation means that even though he intended to honor the Lotus Sutra, in the end, he annihilated it. Priest Shan-wu-wei was once the king of Udyana in India. He renounced the throne, became a priest, and in the course of his Buddhist practice journeyed through more than fifty countries in India, finally mastering all the esoteric and exoteric teachings of Buddhism. Later he went to China and became the teacher of Emperor Hsuan-tsung. Every Shingon priest in both China and Japan has since become his disciple. Though he was such a respectable person, he died abruptly, tortured by Enma, the king of hell, although no one knows why.

Nichiren considers that this happened because Shan-wu-wei was at first a votary of the Lotus Sutra, but when he read the Dainichi Sutra, he declared it superior to the Lotus Sutra. Similarly, Shariputra, Maudgalyayana and the others were not doomed to wander through the evil paths for the period of sanzen-jintengo or gohyaku-jintengo because they had committed the ten evils or five cardinal sins. Nor was it because they had committed any of the eight rebellious acts. It was because they met someone who was an evil influence, and discarded the Lotus Sutra to take faith in the provisional teachings.

  34. According to the Great Teacher T'ien-t'ai, "If one befriends an evil person, he will lose his mind." "Mind"means the heart which believes in the Lotus Sutra, while "lose"means to betray one's faith in the Lotus Sutra and follow some other sutras. The Lotus Sutra reads, "... but when they are given the medicine, they refuse to take it."

The Great Teacher T'ien-t'ai stated, "Those who had lost their minds would not take the excellent medicine, even though it was given them. Lost in suffering, they fled to other countries."

Since this is so, the believers of the Lotus Sutra should fear those who plague their faith more than they fear bandits, burglars, midnight killers, tigers, wolves or lions -- even more than invasion by the Mongols. This world is the province of the Devil of the Sixth Heaven (Letter to the Brothers)

"On the surface, it appears that the teachings of Buddhism flourish throughout Japan today. There is something strange about these teachings, but the people do not seem to sense it. For instance, just as an insect flies into a flame or birds fly into the mouths of snakes, the masters of Shingon, and the followers of the Kegon, Hosso, Sanron, Zen, Jodo and Ritsu sects presume that they have obtained the true teachings of Buddhism; they think that they have freed themselves from the cycle of suffering of birth and death. However, without comprehending the sutras’ significance, the founders who established these schools merely followed their own personal concepts of Buddhism while appearing to give patronage to the sutras. With this superficial approach, the founders of each of the various schools propagated their doctrines without realizing that in turning their back on the Lotus Sutra, the true intent of the Buddha would not be realized. The sovereign and many people throughout the nation completely and blindly placed their beliefs in these teachings.

It has now been many years since these doctrines were transmitted to our country. Later scholars not realizing the errors of the founders of these schools, regarded those who mastered and then spread these mistaken teachings as sages. If the source of a stream is muddy, that stream will not run clear. If a body is bent, its shadow will not be straight. Shan Wu Wei and the founders of the other schools must have already fallen into hell. Perhaps, however, there were some amongst them who modified their beliefs and practices, repented and thus escaped the suffering of falling into hell. There may have been some that merely propagated their own sutras without either praising nor criticizing the Lotus Sutra, and even though they not able to liberate themselves from the cycle of life and death, they avoided falling into the evil paths. Even so, there are people in this later age who are not aware of this, they all continue to believe in the misguided teachings of the followers of these schools. This is as dangerous as boarding a wrecked ship and sailing out onto the open seas or a drunken person who lies down and falls asleep in a burning house.

  35. I, Nichiren, saw how these mistaken forms of Buddhism were spread and was at once awakened with aspiration for enlightenment [to save the people]. I therefore began preaching the true doctrines of the Lotus Sutra. I was fully aware from the very start that no matter how I explained this situation to the people, they would not believe me and I would instead be faced with exile and execution. Today, since the nation of Japan has turned its back on the Lotus Sutra and abandoned Sakyamuni Buddha, its people will certainly fall into Avichi Hell in their next life. Not only that, they will without fail also be faced with great suffering in this lifetime too. That is to say, foreign military forces will invade our country and every single individual will lament as they encounter great adversity, from the Emperor all the way down to the common person. If, for example, one thousand brothers were to kill a parent, the sin from that act would not be divided into one thousand separate parts, each one would have to fall into the Hell of Incessant Suffering and endure its torment for the long period of an entire kalpa. The country of Japan is also like this in which every single human being must be subjected to their offenses against Buddhism.

Since the infinite past of Gohyaku Jintengo, this Saha World has been the domain of the Revered One, Sakyamuni Buddha, founder of the teachings of the Lotus Sutra. The immense land, air, mountains and oceans, plants and trees belong to no other Buddha than him. Furthermore, all living beings are the children of Sakyamuni Buddha. Since this earth first came into being during the Kalpa of Formation, Bonten descended from the heavens and gave birth to the sentiment beings of the six lower worlds. Just as Bonten is the father of all sentient beings, Sakyamuni Buddha is also the parent of all living beings in this Saha World. Furthermore, the Revered One, Sakyamuni Buddha, founder of the teachings of Buddhism, is an enlightened master who accurately guides all living beingsthroughout this country. Being able to recognize who is one’s mother and who is one’s father is a debt of gratitude we owe the Master. The ability to distinguish between good and evil is also debt of gratitude we owe Sakyamuni Buddha."(Ichinosawa Nyudo Gosho)

"I especially warn the priests on Mount Kiyosumi. If they treat me with less respect than they show their own parents or the three treasures, they will become wretched beggars in this life and will fall into the hell of incessant suffereing in the next. I will explain why. The villainous Tojo Saemon Kagenobu once hunted the deer and other animals kept by Seicho-ji and tried to force the priests in the various lodging temples to become Nembutsu believers. At that time I pitted myself against Tojo and supported the lorde of the manor. I composed a fervernt oath and read, "If the two temples at Kiyosumi and Futama should come into Tojo's possession, I will discard the Lotus Sutra!" Then, I tied it to the hand of the object of worship (23), to which I prayed continuously. Within a year both temples were freed from Tojo's grasp........(Letter to the Priests of Seicho-ji, MajorWritings Volume 2 Page 267) Written January 11, 1276,three years after the Daishonin began to inscribe Gohonzon.

  36. "No matter how much they chant, everybody who has hatred for Nichiren first must fall to the Unremitting Hell; after immeasurable kalpas, having become the disciples of Nichiren, they shall attain Buddhahood." (Kyoo gozen gosho, Stn, v. 1, 687)

The Great Teacher Nan-yueh in his Shi Anrakugyo states, ‘If there should be a bodhisattva who protects evil persons and fails to chastise them... then when his life comes to an end, he will fall into hell along with those evil persons.'

"The meaning of this passage is that, if a practitioner of Buddhism should fail to chastise evil persons who slander the Law but give himself up entirely to meditation and contemplation, not attempting to distinguish between correct or incorrect doctrines, provisional or true teachings, but rather pretending to be a model of compassion, then such a person will fall into the evil paths along with the other doers of evil. Now a person who fails to correct Shingon, Nembutsu, Zen and Ritsu adherents who are slanderers of the Law and instead pretends to be a model of compassion will meet just such a fate as this." (Gosho name?)

"...when it comes to the True Dharma, they show no inclination to establish it and help protect it over the ages, but rather speak of it with malice and contempt, their words replete with error. Persons of this kind too I would say are following the path of the Icchantika. With the exception of this one group of people called Icchantika, however, you may offer alms to all others and everyone will praise you."(Rissho Ankoku ron)

"They entirely look up to groups of icchantikas and rely on them as leaders and, reverencing blasphemers against the Dharma, make them national teachers. Taking up the Classic Filial Piety of Confucious, they beat their parents' heads and, while chanting the Lotus Sutra of Lord Shakya with their mouths, they go against the Master of teachings." (Letter to Tonsured Layman Soya).

"That person , when life ends, together with the various evil people, shall fall to hell."(STN, v. 2 p.1500).

Nichiren is the most perverse person in Japan. The reason is this: Nichiren proclaims that because the people revere Amida, Dainichi, Yakushi and other Buddhas even more than their own parents and lords, the three calamities and seven disasters are occurring in greater magnitude than in any previous age, and natural disasters are now more terrible than ever. I am forever reminding them that they will not only ruin themselves and destroy the country in this lifetime, but will fall into the depths of hell in the next". (The Swords of Good and Evil).
