This is the real reality of the slanderous SGI.
ReplyDeleteSo what this SGI nutter is saying is that somehow, Daisaku Ikeda has some special knoweldge and insight that he alone in this age can somehow battle devils and obstacles but that anyone else can't and if they think they can...well they're deluded. That's a nice neat bit of circular logic that repeatedly places a very wealthy, very worldly Japanese bloke in the seat on sole capability to his advantage and keeps everyine else out.
ReplyDeleteThe fact that both the Sutra and Nichiren state that it is faith that privides entry alone and that it is the strength of one's faith that enables one to successfully overcome demons and obstacles doesn't crop up once.
Faith has been almost fully replaced by "mentor", there is only one thing that SGI wants to hear and only one tging it want's to teach "you can't do it alone, you can't do it without our mentor, you NEED our mentor" - "you need us and what we are selling".
But we don't, nobody does and YOU CAN DO IT ALONE with only one teacher - The Buddha and the Law - Myoho Renge-kyo and your faith - Namu.
As for the "is slowly sinking in to the youth" people are leaving thr SGI, hand over fist, it is a fact that, using SGIcs own figures it is almost half today what it was in 1988, meanwhile it has spread itself more thinly, to 1oq countries claimed almost double the 115 claimed in 1988, so there are almost a quarter of the people practicing in each country AND global population has risen by 45% in the same period. So SGI is thinner on the ground in each place and less well represented in the populations it is within.
It is also a fact that it is an aging organisation, there are many less young people in the organisatiom and they don't stay because it has nothing to offer them. It's teaching is hollow, they don't want to follow a remote Japanese bloke who is stuck in 50's corporate Japan, the age of the salaryman, tween brown fake Chippendale grandure, with plush gold trimmings and who has nothing but banal new age sayings that they've seen elsewhere a hundred times before.
They are savvy and hardened to the ad speak and slick media manipulations amd more likely to know when they are being conned. So they don't join. They come, look, go "no thanks" and go elsewhere.
Those folk are looking for the Law and they can't find it in SGI because it ain't there. But find it they will.
SGI is dead and soon to be buried. All it's exploited wealth will come to nought.
It can't come soon enough!
