If dialogue [shoju] rather than refutation [shakubuku] could help to eradicate intolerance, Nichiren would have employed dialogue rather than refutation.
Or maybe it is that Nichiren is demonstrating upholding the Lotus Sutra not ‘ religious tolerance” should be foremost in our thoughts? Personal comfort is the driving force of Gakkai “guidance”— until just about anything becomes more important to them than upholding the Buddha’s teachings !
ReplyDeleteFew if any SGI members are aware of how far afield they are from Nichiren’s teachings. They have come to expect comfortable circumstances for their loyalty to SGI.
