My good friend's dad was a prominent physician in a small town. The local hospital there, was directly downwind from the largest uranium processing plant, and radioactive tailings pile in the western united states. Only a few miles from it. His dad was a great guy. He was a democrat and a downeasterner from maine. Most of his patients, worked in the mines or mill, to support their families. Was 53, he got lung cancer, of a type related to uranium exposure. He never smoked in his life. Would not allow it in his office or home. Paul, his son and my friend, said his dad blamed the cancer on the mill, and said he wished, he had not had that bumper sticker on his truck.
DOC M. Was a good soul like most doctors are. He devoted his life to helping and saving others. He died from a reaction to the chemotherapy, they used to treat his lung cancer. That is truth.
