  1. Noel, I have no friends left except for a handful of people. they have all abandoned me. I would like to remain friends but if you disparage the Lotus Sutra, I can not consider you a friend save as friends having a Poison Drum relationship."

Mark I wasn't being negative about the integribility of Lotus Sutra because the one great secret law is a part of it and it's completion in Nichiren's 10 world Gohonzons( that you promote) the oneness of the 3 truths Ji no ichinen sanzen (theory and practice) from which the 3 bodied eternal Shakyamuni Buddha thus come one is revealed in our lives!

In this letter, Nichiren Daishonin declares that the teaching that enables people to attain Buddhahood in the Latter Day of the Law is the completion of the Lotus Sutra with the one great secret law of Nam-myoho-renge-kyo, which is implicit in the sutra’s “Life Span” chapter.

Nichirens 10 world Gohonzons are the embodiement of Namu Myoho Renge Kyo,oneness of the 3 truths,Eternal Shakyamuni Buddha, 3 bodied Tathagatta Thus come one, ichinen sanzen the compaction of the Lotus Sutra!

The theoretical knowledge of the Lotus Sutra Ri no chinen sanzen isn't enough by itself to quickly enlighten ordinary people. Namu Myoho Renge Kyo and it's materialisation being Nichiren's 10 world Gohonzon the oneness of the 3 truths Ji no ichinn sanzen are just that from which the 3 bodied eternal Shakyamuni Buddha thus come one is revealed!

Notice I said in the passage above that the theoretical knowledge of the Lotus Sutra is not enough by itself, not disparging it but implying that there is more to it. Think you may have me mixed up with something else.

The old testament is an integral part of the New testament. Jesus was always quoting the old testament and bought out revelations from it in a similiar way that Nichiren does with the Lotus Sutra. So don't get me wrong Mark. The past, present and future a continual flow of karmic energy throughout etrnity!

As the One Great Secret Law is part of the Lotus Sutra so is the Lotus Sutra part of the One Great Secret Law in the Saha world which is the land of the ETERNAL TRANQUIL LIGHT the Kaidan of sacred matter! It's integral my dear Rogow!

  3. Excellent, thank you Noel. You may not have known but SGI/NST invariably uses that passage to Lord Ueno (Nanjo Tokimitsu) to assert that the Lotus Sutra has lost its power, taking it out of context of the writing, the Five Major Works, and the entire canon of authenticated works. We must revere the Lotus Sutra because in its depths is Namu myoho renge kyo, the One Great Secret Law as you pointed out.

Of course, reciting Namu Myoho renge kyo one time is equal to reading the entire Lotus Sutra one time and reciting the Daimoku one million times is equal to reading the Lotus Sutra one million times. However, attempting to convert those who practice Pure Land, Shingon/Tibetian Buddhism, Therevadans, or even non-Buddhists, it is imperative that one is familiar with the Lotus Sutra. It is also imperative to know and differentiate shoju (peaceful practices) from shakubuku (forceful practices). Having the Lotus Sutra in front of a statue arrangement converts the Shakyamuni of India into the Eternal Shakyamuni. Nichiren as the Supreme Votary of the Lotus Sutra functioned as the Lotus Sutra. That is why, in Sado, he could enshrine a statue of Shakyamuni Buddha of India. In Nichiren's presence too, the Shakyamuni of India became the Eternal Buddha. Not so sure about us. Didn't Nichiren praise a half a dozen people for fashioning a statue of Shakyamuni Buddha?
