SGI members' and fawning servitude

"It is the nature of common mortals not to know what awaits them in the future. Those who know it well are called worthies or sages. Passing over examples from the past, I will cite one from the present. Lord Hojo Yoshimasa relinquished both his domains and became a lay priest. I hear that, in the end, he abandoned all his many estates, forsook his sons and daughters as well as his wife and secluded himself from the world. You have neither sons nor brothers upon whom you can rely. All that you have is your two fiefs. This life is like a dream. One cannot know if he will live until tomorrow. Even if you should become the most wretched of beggars, never disgrace the Lotus Sutra. Since life is so short in any event, you should not weep over your fate. As you yourself wrote in your letter, you must act and speak without the least servility. Fawning or flattery will only do you more harm. Even if your fiefs should be confiscated or you yourself driven out, think that it is due to the workings of the Ten Goddesses, and wholeheartedly entrust yourself to them." -- A Warning Against Begrudging One's Fief

And further down we read,

"You must in no way behave in a servile fashion toward the magistrate. Tell him, "This fief of mine is not one which my lord bestowed upon me for any ordinary reason. He awarded it to me because I saved his life with the medicine of the Lotus Sutra when he fell seriously ill. If he takes it from me, his illness will surely return. At that time, even if he should apologize to me, Yorimoto, I will not accept it." Having had your say, take your leave in an abrupt manner."

Fawning and flattery is the World of Animality. There is more fawning and flattery in the SGI from top to bottom than in the Japanese parliament or in the Mitsubichi corporate offices. It is particularly offensive the way Daisaku Ikeda fawns over the intellectuals and men of power in this Latter Age. He takes fawning and flattery to new heights, failing to teach the Lotus and Nirvana Sutras and the correct and sublime teachings of Nichiren Daishonin for fear of alienating these insignificant and dastardly men.

I woke up this morning with the sharp sword of a lucid mind. I didn't have to chant for ten or even two hours. I chanted for twenty minutes. However, I have a little faith in the Lotus Sutra and Shakyamuni Buddha. Daisaku Ikeda's and SGI's agenda is perfectly clear to me. They have thrown Shakyamuni Buddha out of his own religion and slowly but surely they are throwing out Nichiren Daishonin. It began with "Nichiren said this but meant that." Now, any inconvenient teaching of Nichiren Daishonin is not taught at all. The thrust of TSL's [Top Senior Leader's] comments on my Fraught With Peril blog was that SGI's and Daisaku Ikeda's ecumenical life philosophy is greater than Shakyamuni Buddha's and Nichiren Daishonin's religion based on the exclusive faith and practice of the Lotus Sutra. They can not get rid of the names of these great men and the beneficent practice of chanting the Daimoku. If they did, who would take Makiguchi, Toda, and Ikeda seriously? Who would take their words over those of Shakyamuni Buddha and Nichiren Daishonin?

The members have been brainwashed into believing the Daimoku was these men's invention, "If it weren't for Daisaku Ikeda you would have never met the Daimoku" or "If it weren't for Makiguchi's and Toda's 'martyrdom' you would never have encountered the Daimoku." The reality is, the Daimoku is so pure that even the SGI men and women of of incorrigeable disbelief feel refreshed like having taken a shower after chanting the Daimoku. However, at best, in the hands of those who practice fawning servitude, what they experience is nothing more than the World of Rapture. Stuck as they are in the Six Lower Realms for having thrown out Shakyamuni Buddha and the Supreme Votary of the Lotus Sutra, they can neither deliver themselves from the cycle of birth and death nor accomplish the Great Wish.

Better a lone pine beggar who follows Nichiren than Herbie Hancock and Orlando Bloom who follow Daisaku Ikeda

"Just like a lotus, the disciple, by his wisdom, will shine among them that are ignorant, blind and unconverted." -- Buddha

We shine though we are few. We see reality as it is. The SGI members make up reality to fit their unenlightened worldview. They are as numerous as hemp seedlings. They can offer nothing to relieve the suffering of the people.

Converted are those converted to the Sublime Dharma of the Lotus Flower Sutra. Then, one is said to be practicing as the Buddha teaches. Converting to SGI pseudo-Buddhism or following Ikeda rather than Nichiren Daishonin is to give off the scent of the Corpse Flower, not the Lotus.

Virtue is to practice the Lotus Sutra and the teachings of Nichiren Daishonin, not the teachings of SGI and Ikedaism. It would be better to be a leper who practices correctly than the president of the SGI. It is better to be a poverty stricken lone pine beggar like myself than a multimillionaire parasitic morning glory in the SGI like Orlando Bloom and Herbie Hancock.

Fruitless are the words of Ikeda who fails to practice as the Lotus Sutra and Nichiren Daishonin teach. Neither he nor his disciples give off the scent of sweet perfume to those who have an interrelationship with Shakyamuni Buddha and the leader of the Bodhisattvas of the Earth. Rather, to us, he gives off the odor of stinkweed. We neither look up to him nor are moved by his flowery hollow words and behaviors while his unenlightened deluded followers and ignorant ecumenists look up to him as a living Buddha. Ikeda has done more to destroy Buddhism than the Muslim hordes in India. He and the Soka Gakkai are noxious plants. They are the water hemlock of Buddhism and we are the evening primrose from which is derived amrita.  Avoid Ikeda and the SGI at all costs. Draw near to us, the Sangha of the Bodhisattvas of the Earth and you will experience the joy of joys.

Those who chant Nam Myoho renge kyo rather than Namu Myoho renge kyo distort and slander the teachings:

Eagle Peak

Nichiren teaches about Eagle Peak much more often and comprehensively after his exile to Sado Island. (1274 -1282) It is only natural that one’s thoughts turn to the afterlife as one approaches their end and Nichiren must have known that his exhaustive efforts and hardships would soon take their toll. It is a wonder that Nichiren lived as long as he did.

“Bodhisattva Never Disparaging was a practitioner at the initial stage of rejoicing; Nichiren is an ordinary practitioner at the stage of hearing the name and words of the truth 11*.”

Nichiren, like we ourselves, had just received the seed of Buddhahood after many kalpas from the Original Buddha (Honbutsu). For countless asamkhiya kalpas, we have neither heard the Law nor practiced the Buddha’s teachings and, for all intents and purposes, our Buddha seeds have dried up. This is not to say that our Buddha-field (Buddha-nature) is not fertile soil but we have not encountered the seeds of Myoho renge kyo, for a very long time. Being common mortals like Nichiren at the stage of Myoji Soku (first hearing the name and the words of the Truth or Myoho renge kyo) we, of course, have various worries, and doubts, especially about the afterlife. These doubts and uncertainties come to the fore when we have a near death experience, lose a loved one, or are coming to the end of our lives. I am sure that Nichiren too experienced these feelings and was acutely aware of the even more intense uncertainties experienced by his disciples and believers. For this reason, Nichiren made the afterlife an important part of his teachings after 1274.

Every “advanced” religion and most primitive religions address the question of an afterlife. Most of Nichiren’s followers had the mistaken idea of an Eternal Paradise ingrained due to the influence of the pervasive Pure Land teachings. This is akin to those of us in the western world who have the Christian idea of heaven established in their psyche. Even Chapter twenty-three of the Lotus Sutra takes into account the teaching of the Eternal Pure Land. The compassion and mercy of the Buddha and Nichiren was not to destroy the belief in this hopeful place but rather to utilize it so that one could believe ever more fervently in the Supreme Law.

“This is the place we live to enjoy happiness”. This is the place where we and our loved ones will be reborn to again experience the Joy of the Law. Whenever the Buddha in the pre-Lotus Sutra teachings, let alone the Lotus Sutra, talks about “assurance of no rebirth”, or Nichiren talks about going to Eagle Peak, they mean no rebirth in the Lower Six Realms.

Nichiren's prayers for the deceased petitions the Gohonzon for the deceased to be free of sufferings and that they wake up from the delusion of life and death and attain Enlightenment (the Great Bodhi).

Eagle Peak, in one sense, is the intermediate state, the Land of actual reward, a place of joy. quietude, and rest where, in death, we meet our teachers Shakyamuni Buddha and Nichiren Daishonin before returning to this Saha World to once again sow the seeds of Buddhahood in the wasteland of the peoples' lives. In another sense, the land of actual reward or Eagle Peak is the Gohonzon where, every day, we refresh ourselves and again meet with our teachers Shakyamuni Buddha and Nichiren Daishonin. Lastly, where ever we preach and propagate Namu Myoho renge kyo, at work, in school, "in a garden, a forest, beneath a tree, in monks’ quarters, in the lodgings of white-robed laymen, in palaces, in mountain valleys or in the wide wilderness,"** is the Buddha's Land. “There can be no discontinuity between the three existences of past, present, and future.”

Neither tolerant pluralistic societies nor intolerant monistic societies lead to peace

Only a society based on the Lotus Sutra leads to peace.

"I have to ask myself what use my time is here on these internet forums. It's kind of like having a long distance relationship. Anyway, I figured from around 1995 that the internet was a way to reach the most people in this day and age and also to preserve the teachings for posterity. I think I will now continue on no matter what. I have not always in the past but now, this life of mine means not that much to me and the best thing to do with this worthless life is to spread the teachings as I believe Nichiren taught them, for the sake of the f--d up world. Too much suffering and tears, children, people, and animals dying caused by science, Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, provisional Buddhism, communism, capitalism, Ikedaism, Nichirenism.... Only the Lotus Sutra is really beautiful in its practice and vision without one exhortation to kill. That is very important. Even Nichiren made several exortations to kill but not the Lotus Sutra. Nichiren knew that only the Lotus Sutra was perfect. That is why he was the perfect teacher because he pointed people to the Lotus Sutra above all else, even himself, and he was the True Votary flawed though he was. Shakyamuni Buddha too was flawed. He taught the provisional teachings for forty years. The Lotus Sutra is perfect unlike Nichiren, you and I. 

A catch-all "humanist" psuedo-Buddhist religion or Nichiren's Buddhism?

SGI Senior Leader Soren says,

"Recognizing that other faiths exist and that adherents of other faiths not only possess in full measure the same fundamental humanity as followers of Nichiren Daishonin, but have valuable contributions to make towards a peaceful and healthy world, has been characterized by some of this ng's more clueless individuals as a move (on the part of the SGI) to create a catch-all "humanist" psuedo-Buddhist religion which masquerades as Nichiren Buddhism."

Nichiren says:

Buddhist Temples stand in a row, and Buddhist doctrines are discussed in every house today in this country. Buddhism prospers in Japan more than in India or China, and the manners and behavior of Buddhist monks are like those of arhats who have mastered the six divine powers. However, these monks are as ignorant as birds and beasts. They do not know which sutra is superior in doctrine among the sutras preached by Sakyamuni Buddha during His lifetime. Discarding Sakyamuni Buddha, who is our master, teacher, and parent in this world, these monks seek refuge in Buddhas and bodhisattvas of other worlds. How can you say that they are

not against their own teacher?

Therefore, I say: "Pure Land Buddhism is a way leading to the Hell of Incessant Suffering;  Zen Buddhism is the act of heavenly devils, who hinder the Buddhist way;  True Words (Shingon) Buddhism is an evil teaching leading to destruction of our nation; and Discipline (Ritsu) Buddhism is a false teaching by traitors." 

Contemplating on this, I, Nichiren, wrote a treatise in the first year of the Bunno Era (1260) or thereabout, entitling it Rissho ankoku-ron, and submitted it to the late Lord Saimyoji, Shogunal Regent Tokiyori Hojo, through Lay Priest Yadoya. The gist of the writing is that because the people in the country put faith in such evil teachings as Pure Land, True Words, Zen, and Discipline, calamities and disasters continue to plague this land, which will eventually be attacked by foreign troops. This is what I predicted in my Rissho ankoku-ron. As a matter of fact, a letter of state arrived from the Mongol Empire on the eighteenth of this past first month just as I had predicted. Is this because devotional services performed by various temples lost the power to invoke divine protection? Or, is it because false teachings spread over this land?

Everybody in Kamakura, military rulers, as well as the ruled, looks up to Abbot Doryu of the Kenchoji Temple as if he were a Buddha, and reveres

Abbot Ryokan of the Gokurakuji Temple as if he were an arhat. Besides, head monks of such temples as Jufukuji, Jokomyoji, Chorakuji, and Daibutsuden are highly respected. In my opinion, however, they are self-conceited, evil monks who believe them-selves to have understood the true intent of the Buddha while actually they have not. How can these monks chastise great Mongol troops by means of prayer?

Besides, all the people in Japan, rulers and subjects, will be captured by the Mongols. Thus they will destroy their country in their present life, and will fall into the Hell of Incessant Suffering in a future life. You will surely regret it if you don't listen to me now.

To this effect, I have written to such persons as the Lord of Kamakura, the Lay Priest Yadoya, and Saemon-no-jo Taira, so you should get together for consultation.I, Nichiren, do not speak for selfish purposes. I speak only what is said in sutras and discourses. I cannot write in detail in a letter, but I expect to meet you in a public discussion. One finds it difficult to write what one wants to say, and to say what one has in mind.

Who do we thank, the medicine or the physician and pharmacist?

Who do we thank when we are cured of a serious illness? Do we thank the medicine or the physician and pharmacist? We thank the physician and pharmacist. In like manner, when we chant the Daimoku, we thank Shakyamuni Buddha of the Juryo Chapter of the Lotus Sutra, the great physician who prescribed the medicine and Nichiren Daishonin, the pharmacist who dispensed the medicine.

Shinzo Abe is bringing about the destruction of the Japanese nation

"It also says: “Evil monks, hoping to gain fame and profit, will in many cases appear before the ruler, the crown prince, or the other princes, and take it upon themselves to preach doctrines that lead to the violation of the Buddhist Law and the destruction of the nation. The ruler, failing to perceive the truth of the situation, will listen to and put faith in such doctrines, and proceed to create regulations that are perverse in nature and that do not accord with the rules of Buddhist discipline. In this way he will bring about the destruction of Buddhism and of the nation.”

Shinzo Abe listens to and puts faith in the business suited priests of the Soka Gakkai and Komeito and created perverse regulations like the State's Secrets Law and revision of Article 9 of the Japanese Constitution which will bring about the destruction of Buddhism and Japan.

“If persons destroy the teachings of the Buddha, they will have no filial sons, no harmony with their six kinds of relatives, and no aid from the heavenly deities...." -- Nichiren

Daisaku Ikeda's most filial and capable son died of a bleeding ulcer when he was 28 years old; his mother and father never converted to the Soka Gakkai religion; and the Buddhist gods failed to aid him when he most needed their help, in saving the Sho Hondo, the high sanctuary of SGI "Buddhism".
