True true, that be we

"Still, a purist "Lotus only" stance and the rejection of "Dharma slander'' remained official ideology and were periodically revived by Hokkeshu leaders eager to launch reformist movements within the tradition or to legitimize newly founded lineages. Such figures sometimes leveled charges of "Dharma slander'' not only at other Buddhist schools but at rival branches within the Nichiren tradition, thus bolstering their own claims to superior orthodoxy and fidelity to Nichiren's example." -- Jacqueline Stone

How to Label the Disappointment of Ikedaism

"In all religious communities always develops a model for label information and to manage them in order to channel them and make them acceptable. On the surface simplicity of $oka is that:

Information management is a question of quantity and quality. These two aspects imply an analysis of how many similarities you are dealing with cognitive dissonance, and in what form and what. In the “external” society there are special labeling requirements, and so strident dissonances are recoded at some point so spontaneously from the “social brain”, the cult there can sometimes be potentially explosive contradictions, however, be classified into a single global schema of thought, even at the price of rielaborazzioni boldly convoluted. In fact, it is essential to guarantee $ oka still has all the costs and the squaring of the circle. Translating the above into practice, it is clear to insiders that, given the weight given by the desires of all’esaudimento Gohonzon (the object of worship), to neutralize and redefine all situations in which desires were not realized. It is a nonsense to say that 99% of the $okista philosophy is everything in this stronghold. The militant proselytizing it focuses exclusively on this concept and its labeling. The adepts and hagiography argue that the Gohonzon elegantly fulfills all (ie 100%) the wishes of the faithful. If ever you will attend a meeting $oka, after the demonstration phase of the acting and all its sophistry, you will notice a phase of confrontation between the followers all geared to the resonance of the mutual benefits of the practice. Commit a positive and phases of elation following various interventions are the norm. Then if someone complains instead of not being able to acquire what you want, then snap the labeling.

Labelling of disappointment, or because my desires are not fulfilled:

1) The desire was badly formulated: it was not clear, was ambiguous, too big, too small, unreachable … etc.etc.,

2) you have practiced evil, or little, or too little,

3) for long-time followers: are severely attacked by the demon,

4) for all: they represent the last exit before the bad karma of good karma created by the practice manifests itself,

5) for more: the protection of the Gohonzon appear to the adept, who does not know that, now if he was satisfied his desire, that would in some way harmful to him,

6) for beginners: the practitioner “not ready” to support the fulfillment of desire,

7) for all and for that particular desire: the practitioner was not deeply determined, did not wish to sincerely

for many: the practitioner has not acted properly, that has not completed all the necessary actions to get to the meeting.

The “dogma” to achieve their objectives reads: “establish-pray- act” (see the ceremony at the end of calendar year in which you write a little book wishes to achieve in the coming year).

In conclusion then , if the goal was not achieved, then there must be a defect in one of three dogmas and go back to points 1, 2, 7 and 8, then if you have absolute certainty (and who really knows ?) that the State has well-established, prayed and done, you can always raise questions karmic (point 4), demonic (point 3) or “protection” (paragraphs 5 and 6).

Hence the great bluffs which followers rarely resist (echoes usually does is short-lived). Points 1, 2, 7 and 8 are easily accepted and understood their logic and then leave them aside. The remaining points, or as it is entitled, the remaining labels being absolutely unprovable, are generally accepted as true without question. The “trinity” of dogma, ultimately, well-stocked, and if there are particular problems, neuroses, crises, etc.. It really works to increase the sense of self-efficacy, collective resonance of self- esteem; increasing expectations of success and personal resources, in this sense the practice “works”, no doubt, even if its benefits do not actually go beyond the normal statistics possibility of any other citizen of the world with a good sense of self-esteem. In other words, all the hubbub of activity, recitations, meetings, proselytizing (sorry, shakubuku) is a little high for a cost that gives the result. Especially since there are also … possible contraindications.

Most of all what has been written is taken from the application of principles of multilevel marketing."

Some thoughts on the Buddhist gods

The principle Buddhist gods include both: Cognized individual beings such as Fudo, Aizen, the Four Heavenly Kings (for example Bonten or Brahma, Taishaku or Shakra or Indra, friends, family members, and helpful animals; and protective functions such as the gods of the sun and moon, gravity and the other laws of physics, chemistry and biology.

Here I would like to talk mainly about the two Siddham character gods on the sides of Gohonzon, Aizen on the left facing the Gohonzon (8) and Fudo on the right (9).

Gohonzon diagram

Before I begin the discussion, here is what Nichiren says about the Buddhist gods:

Robin Beck writes on his Fraught With Peril blog:

Aizen Myo [Ragaraja] is The Wisdom King of lusty, passionate, greed]:

“愛柔 明王 {Aizen-myo’o}:

Ai means something like infatuation. The kanji read zen means stained or dyed. Aizen is a translation of raga. It is translated as passion, lust, greed, desire, gluttony, & craving; among other things. I think I like infatuation for raga.

The myo means light, a translation of vidya, meaning objective wisdom. The O is, of course a translation of raja, meaning king. (Skt: Ragaraja) A Buddhist deity who is said to purify people’s afflictions and free them from illusions {hleshas, bonnos} and the sufferings accruing from afflictions. In the esoteric teaching his true identity is regarded as Dainichi (Skt: Mahavairochana) Buddha or Kongosatta (Vajrasattva). Aizen is pictured on the Diamond World mandala and is depicted as being red in color with three eyes, six arms and a furious expression. In his hand he has a bow and arrows. His name is inscribed in Siddha, a medieval Sanskrit orthography, on the left-hand side of the Gohonzon as one faces it, signifying the principle that afflictions are enlightenment (Jap: bonno soku bodai). -- Source: A Dictionary of Buddhist Terms and Concepts. NSIC: Tokyo. 1983. 1990.

Other meanings of Aizen:

[Basic Meaning:] impassioned; To be caught by desire/attachment(Skt. rakta, saṃrakta, amiṣa; Tib. chags pa; kun tu chags pa) [cmuller; source(s): Nakamura,S.Hodge]; the taint of desire. (Skt. tṛṣṇ, rga, ) [cmuller; source(s): Soothill, Hirakawa]

The Flammarion Iconographic Guide: Buddhism states:

“This Vidyaraja, who is venerated almost exclusively in Japan, is a deity of conception. He is the king of the magic science of attraction or of love. ‘Aizen Myo-o represents in fact the amorous passion as it appears sublimated in the perspective of esotericism: victorious over itself, not by suppression as normally taught, but by a greater exaltation transmuted into a desire for Awakening.’ He is sometimes identified with a ferocious form of Vairocana, although he is not one of the five great Vidyarajas. ” (p.213)

The Guide also says:

“Due to his combative force, Fudo is invoked in many circumstances, chiefly against attacks of sickness – not because he is considered as a healer, but as an effective force to combat impurities and demons that cause illness. He is also invoked for protection against persons feared to be harmful and against spells cast by sorcerers. Fudo is also often considered as the defender of Japan against attack from external enemies. For all these reasons, he must be one of the Buddhist deities most often invoked in Japan, and also one of the most popular. The temples and sanctuaries dedicated to him are found throughout the countryside, in cities and at crossroads. Most of these temples belong to the Shingon and Tendai sects. Members of the Nichiren sect also worship him, mainly as the ‘protector of the state’.” (p.208)

“Aizen Myo-o is still venerated by the Japanese, and is often invoked in connection with petitions concerning love. Apart from this, he is not a popular deity except among artists, geishas and others in professions connected with matters of love.” (p.214)

However, we clarify Aizen Myo ["Earthly Desires Are Equal To Enlightenment"] from the perspective of Nichiren’s Lotus Sutra Buddhism and most importantly, the true meaning of the Gohonzon, faith in the Lotus Sutra, and faith in Eternal Buddha:

The SGI’s reliance on Aizen Myo and their misunderstanding of the concept of Earthly Desires Equal Enlightenment [which should read, Delusions Equal to Enlightenment], is equivalent to a separate enshrinement of this deity. It is a great slander of the Law. They misunderstand the very nature of the Gohonzon while the position of The Master of Teachings Lord Shakya of the Original Doctrine of the Lotus Sutra and thus the Gohonzon itself is diminished. This is the fundamental cause for their lack of benefits and their punishment.

Nichiren Daishonin writes:

“For all the beings of this country of Japan the Buddha Shakya is Ruler, Teacher, and Parent. Even the Heavenly Deities, the Five Generations of the Earthly Deities, and the Ninety generations, gods [kami] and humans, of the Human Kings are subordinates of the Buddha Shakya.” [Myoho bikuni gohenji or Reply to Bhikshuni Myoho]

Subordinates refer to retainers or vassels. Aizen Myo or Delusion is Equal to Enlightenment is subordinate to Shakyamuni Buddha of the Juryo Chapter and the Buddha nature of the Amala consciousness. Therefore, earthly desires are subordinate to the Great Desire for Buddhahood and the spread of the True Teachings.

In reply to Various People [Shonen Gohenji] we read:

“The whole of the country of Japan one and all will become the disciples and lay donors of Nichiren. Those who have left the household life among my disciples will become teachers of the Emperor and Retired Emperor. The housholders will be ranged among the Ministers of the Left and of the Right. Or even the whole of Jambudvipa will all revere this doctrine.”

This is why we have priests to clarify the teachings and the danger of those unlearned SGI men and women, those who claim to have attained what they have not, teaching the Lotus Sutra and the meaning of the doctrines of Nichiren Daishonin. The whole of “Give Adoration” [Namu] includes Aizen Myo who gives adoration to Namu Myoho renge kyo.

Therefore, our earthly desires or delusions give way to Namu Myoho renge kyo, not the other way around as taught in the Soka Gakkai. They are confused about the Gohonzon and they are confused about the Buddha. How could they not be confused about everything else. Do not believe them, not about anything. If you want guidance go to the source. Go to the Lotus Sutra and the writings of Nichiren Daishonin and, if you still have questions, seek out a priest who knows the heart of the Sutra.

Let the karmic retribution of many SGI’s top leaders [as well as the theoretical proof proffered here] be a warning to those who follow. It would be better to outlaw the SGI distorted teachings than offer up ten thousand prayers.

Who are the people of the One Who Attained Long Ago?

A letter written to Lord Soya in the second year of the Kenji era (1276)

“When this Wisdom and Object are united, one obtains Buddhahood in this Very Body (sokushin jobutsu) . . . That this Inner Realization (naisho) is something that the Hearers and Pratyekabuddhas can understand.” What indeed are these two Dharmas of the Field and the Wisdom (kyochi)? They are just the Five Characters Myoho Renge Kyo. These Five Characters He caused to be formed as the Essence and entrusted (ketsuyo fuzoku) them, summoning forth the Great Beings Who Sprang from the Earth. This they call the Doctrine of Entrusting to Those Converted by the Original Buddha (honge fuzoku). At the same time it appears that the Bodhisattvas Jogyo and the others are to come forth and be born in the first five hundred years of the Latter Dharma and to spread the Five characters that are the two Dharmas of the Field and Wisdom. The Sutra text is clear, it is obvious. Who would dispute this? Although I, Nichiren, am not that person nor am I his Messenger, I have beforehand roughly spread them as a Preface. Already, the Bodhisattva Jogyo having received the water of Wisdom of the Sublime Dharma from the Tathagata Shakya, lets it flow and circulate within the withered up multitudes of beings of the evil era of the Latter Age. This is the principle of Wisdom. Lord Shakya cedes and assigns it to the Bodhisattva Jogyo. At the same time I, Nichiren, being in the country of Japan, spread this doctrine” (STN, V. 2, 1253‑1254).

“On Upbraiding Blasphemy Against the Dharma and Extinguishing sins” (Kashaku hobo metsuzai sho) says

“For more than two thousand two hundred years, the painted and wooden images of the Master of Teachings Lord Shakya were those that the worthy kings and saintly rulers have taken as the Object of Worship. However, it was only the Buddhas of the Lesser Vehicle, the Kegon, the Nehan (Nirvana), the Kangyo, the Manifestation Doctrine (Shakumon) of the Hokekyo, the Fugengyo, of the Great Vehicle, the Buddha of the Dainichikyo of the Shingon, and Shakya and Taho of the Chapter of the Jeweled Stupa. However, Lord Shakya of the Chapter of the Measure of Life is not yet in the temples and monastic residences.”* (STN, v. 1, 784).

*The Object of Worship for this age is the Eternal Lord Shakya of the Juryo Chapter of the Lotus Sutra or Gohonzon of Namu Myoho renge kyo. The Dharma is the Daimoku (Namu Myoho renge kyo). The ones who are entrusted with that Dharma are the Bodhisattvas Who Sprang from the Earth (Those who received the Daimoku from the Eternal Buddha in the most distant past and who have the same mind as Nichiren)

Nichiren identifies these Bodhisattvas in the same work:

“It appears that these Four Bodhisattvas* are the people who are the disciples of the Master of Teachings Lord Shakya since kalpas as many as the worlds touched or not by the dust particles of five hundred of tens of trillions of nayutas of assamkheyas of great trichiliocosms (gohyaku jinden go) and who also, from their first arising of the Bodhi Mind, have not adhered to other Buddhas and who have not yet made an appearance in the Two Doctrines [of the Manifestations and the Original]. Tendai says, “He only sees the issuing of vows from the direction below [the Earth]”. He also says, “These are My disciples; they should spread My Dharma” and so on. Myoraku says, “The child spreads the father's Dharma." Tao‑hsien says, “Since the Dharma is the Dharma of the One Who Attained Long Ago, therefore He assigns it to the people of the One Who Attained Long Ago." It is the Five Characters Myo Ho Ren Ge Kyo that He yields to these Four People.” (STN, v. 1, 783‑784).

* Jogyo (Nichiren) or Bodhisattva Superior Practices; Muhengyo or Bodhisattva Boundless Practices; Jogyo or Bodhisattva Pure Practices, and Anryugyu or Bodhisattva Firmly Established Practices. They also represent respectively the four virtues of the Buddha true self, eternity, purity, and happiness.

The followers of the Four Bodhisattvas are we, the Bodhisattvas of the Earth.

The gods have abandoned their believers in the United States, India, Brazil, Russia and the Muslim world. These lands slander the Buddhist Law of the sanctity of all life. Chant Namu Myoho renge kyo and you will be protected.

Everything SGI and TEPCO (Tokyo Electric/Nuclear Power Company)

Some executives of TEPCO are Soka Gakkai cult members. Many Soka University graduates join TEPCO. That means TEPCO has a strong relationship with SGI

9. "SGI shall promote, based on the Buddhist ideal of symbiosis, the protection of nature and the environment."

Consider the following:

BEGIN EXCERPT -

"Nuclear energy and political parties - Komei Party (Part 2), August 28, 2011

Soka Gakkai features pro-nuclear series every year

Soka Gakkai, the religious organization and parent organization of the Komei Party, publishes a newspaper Seikyo Shimbun, in which Tokyo Electric Power Co. (TEPCO) used to run an advertisement every summer between 1978 and 1982.

Beginning in 1978:

The first TEPCO ad appeared on August 2, 1978, covering five bottom columns to advertise that TEPCO was steadily carrying out its plan to promote nuclear power generation.

In 1978 TEPCO aggressively approached Soka Gakkai and the Komei Party in a bid to get the Kashiwazaki Kariwa nuclear power plant (NPP), whose construction was approved in Sep. 1977, built at all costs in Niigata Prefecture to follow the Fukushima NPP.

From 1983 through 2010, TEPCO ran a new style ad in the form of a series for children “Let’s learn about electricity during summer holidays.” The series appeared for an average of 10 to 14 issues every summer. Seikyo Shimbun advertising bureau played a major role in producing the series, with TEPCO providing the information.

The installment dated August 29, 1983 was extraordinary. The article set the scene in which a mother and her child visit the Fukushima Daiichi NPP, which is the one involved in the March accident, and the Daini NPP. The mother asks, “Can it withstand an earthquake?” A TEPCO staff member answers, “The foundation of an atomic power plant is built on hard bedrock. At the Fukushima Daiichi NPP, a staff member working inside a nuclear reactor building says he did not feel the quake at all when the 1978 Earthquake off Miyagi occurred,” and notes how sturdy the structure is. Then the child says, “So we can take shelter in a NPP for safety when an earthquake occurs.”

The serial “summer study” article dated July 29, 1999 took the reader on a visit to the Fukushima Daiichi NPP Unit 3 reactor. The article says that the nuclear reactor is guarded by thick cement walls and that its exterior is further surrounded doubly and triply by protective walls to completely seal in radioactivity. The article concludes by saying that the visiting mother and child are convinced that there would be no leak of radioactivity outside in the event of an accident.

Absence of self-criticism:

Pro-nuclear ads on Seikyo Simbun did not end even after the 1979 Three Mile Island accident in the United States, the 1986 Chernobyl accident in the Soviet Union, and even after the 1999 criticality accident in Tokai Village in Ibaraki Prefecture.

So far this year, the year of the Fukushima Daiichi NPP accident, there has been no joint Seikyo Shimbun-TEPCO series. Likewise, there has not been a single article in the newspaper expressing self-criticism for propagating the nuclear “safety myth.”

Former TEPCO Chairman and top SGI leader facing criminal charges

Former TEPCO president Tsunehisa Katsumata is an SGI member. Besides presiding over the Fukushima disaster, Katsumata was tied to the murder of his mistress Yasuko Watanabe. Of course, as a member of the SGI inner circle, he was never prosecuted.
http://finance.yahoo.com/news/3-ex-tepco-execs-face-113429790.html

Raytheon, BP and TEPCO are upfront about who and what they are. The people know that their motivation is profit, not people. SGI members and too many sociologists believe that Soka Gakkai's motivation is compassion and mercy. Careful consideration reveals that they too are more concerned with profit than people. Those who believe otherwise are as foolish as those who invested with Bernie Madoff.

Japan's and TEPCO's fantasy...

"Utilizing" technologies not yet in existence:

Oh the lies of the Japanese New Komeito led government, Tepco, and IAEA

In the United States, the Kerr McGee nuclear processing plant [MOX fuel] in Cimarron Oklahoma was closed in 1975 [please remember Karen Silkwood]. It is still being cleaned up and it is a highly dangerous environment though it never had even close to a meltdown. They will be cleaning this plant up for another thirty or forty years. There is anecdotal evidence of a much higher cancer rate within twenty miles of the Kerr McGee plant, even today. They will never be able to clean up Fukushima which is ten billion times dirtier than the Kerr McGee site.

TEPCO and SGI featured in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade:

Easy to practice way???

Nichiren, before his near execution and exile to Sado, often spoke of the practice of chanting Daimoku as an easy to practice Way. During and after his great persecutions, he frequently instructed his disciples on the six difficult and nine easy acts described in the Treasure Tower Chapter of the Lotus Sutra, no longer calling Daimoku an easy to practice Way:

"If I were to falter in my determination in the face of persecutions by the sovereign, however, it would be better not to speak out. While thinking this over, I recalled the teachings of the 'Treasure Tower' chapter on the six difficult and nine easy acts. Persons like myself who are of paltry strength might still be able to lift Mount Sumeru and toss it about; persons like myself who are lacking in supernatural powers might still shoulder a load of dry grass and yet remain unburned in the fire at the end of the kalpa of decline; and persons like myself who are without wisdom might still read and memorize as many sutras as there are sands in the Ganges. But such acts are not difficult, we are told, when compared to the difficulty of embracing even one phrase or verse of the Lotus Sutra in the Latter Day of the Law. Nevertheless, I vowed to summon up a powerful and unconquerable desire for the salvation of all beings and never to falter in my efforts."

Soka Gakkai, at least initially continues to practice the easy to practice way.

The Tathagata (Eternal Buddha) sees clearly

"You good sons. The Sutra Canons which the Tathagata expounds are all for saving and liberating the mass of beings. I either preach my own body or preach the body of another or show my own body or show the body of another or show my own matter or show the matter of another. The various words I preach are all true and not empty. What is the reason? The Tathagata knows and sees the appearance of the Three Worlds in accordance with reality: there is no Birth and Death, whether backsliding or emerging; likewise there is neither existence in the world nor non-extinction; they are not real; they are not void. they are not thus; they are not different. It is not as the Three Worlds see the Three Worlds. In such a matter as this the Tathagata sees clearly and is without error. Because the various beings have distinctions of various types of natures, various types of desires, various types of actions, and various types of recollections, I, desiring to cause various good karmic roots to be produced, by means of considerable causalities, parables, and words, preach various kinds of dharmas: The work of the Buddha which I perform I have never once abandoned even for a brief time. Thus the time since I attained Buddhahood is very great, long, and distant. My life is immeasurable asamkheyas of kalpas and I abide forever and am not extinguished." (Lotus Sutra Chapter 16)

John Quincy Adams 6th president of the United States [1767 - 1848] knew the truth about Islam

"The precept of the koran is, perpetual war against all who deny, that Mahomet is the prophet of God. The vanquished may purchase their lives, by the payment of tribute; the victorious may be appeased by a false and delusive promise of peace; and the faithful follower of the prophet, may submit to the imperious necessities of defeat: but the command to propagate the Moslem creed by the sword is always obligatory, when it can be made effective. The commands of the prophet may be performed alike, by fraud, or by force" (Blunt, 29:274).

"Soka Gakkai is having a major impact on global nuclear disarmament"

Thanks to Soka Gakkai's major impact on nuclear disarmament, the are more and varied nuclear weapons than ever before throughout the entire world.

The Three Stage School lives in the hearts of many SGI members

Even many SGI members believe in the teachings of the Three Stages School "San-chieh (540–594) Also known as Hsin-hsing. A priest of the Sui dynasty founded the Three Stages school (Chin San-chieh-chiao). He asserted that, during the third stage in the propagation of Buddhism, or the Latter Day of the Law (that he held had begun in 550), people should not adhere to any particular sutra but revere all teachings without discrimination. This school spread widely, but was proscribed in 600 by imperial decree because its doctrine contradicted those of the earlier schools and ran counter to government policy. It was again suppressed in 725 by imperial decree during the T’ang dynasty. This dealt the school a fatal bow, resulting in its rapid decline." -- SGI Glossary

Unfortunately, this school lives in the hearts of many modern Buddhists, including SGI [Interfaith] Buddhists.

Soke Gakkai and Nichiren Shoshu are not Bodhisattvas of the Earth

"The countless Bodhisattvas of the Earth were the disciples of Shakyamuni Buddha, the lord of teachings, from the time he first set his mind on and attained enlightenment in the remote past.." -- Nichiren

Secular or religious evil?

"Now in this latter, evil age, great evil arises less from secular wrongdoing than in connection with the doctrines of the religious world." -- Nichiren

The SGI and the Nichiren Shu should take this teaching to heart, especially the SGI with their secular approach to violence [Victory Over Violence, anti-bullying campaigns, and nuclear disarmament initiatives].

Nichiren teaches that such efforts divorced from forceful religious conversion [shakubuku] are doomed to failure. One need only look at the actual situation, moving ever closer to nuclear war, despite SGI President Ikeda's dialogues and lectures on "soft power, the Tohoku Earthquake. Tsunami, and Fukushima meltdown. Such is due to SGI's errors in the religious world.

The coward Ikeda

"I remained silent for 10 years concerning the behavior of the priesthood." -- Daisaku Ikeda

"I, Nichiren, am the only person who is aware of this. If I should begrudge my life and thus refrain from speaking out, not only would I be failing to repay the debt of gratitude I owe to my country, but I would also be acting as an enemy of Shakyamuni Buddha, the lord of teachings. On the other hand, I knew from the outset that, if I set aside my fears and declared things exactly as they are, I would be sentenced to death. And even if I should escape the death penalty, I would surely be condemned to exile. So great is the debt of gratitude I owe the Buddha, however, that I have not let others intimidate me, but have spoken out." - Nichiren, the Lion of the Law
