"How pitiful that Nichiren's* successors allowed those thieves, the founders of the Nichiren Shoshu* and Soka Gakkai* schools, to steal the priceless gem of three thousand realms in a single moment of life and then, ironically, became their followers! The Great Teacher Chang-an was fully aware this would happen when he remarked in sorrow, “If this teaching should be lost, it would be a tragedy for the future.'”
