Better to be a wretched beggar who practices as Nichiren teaches than the billionaire president of the Soka Gakkai.
Why? Because Daisaku Ikeda disgraces the Lotus sutra by currying favor [hundreds of honors and awards] with every Tom, Dick, slanderer, and despot while we never fail to preach as the Lotus Sutra and Nichiren Daishonin instruct.
