SGI leader: The Gohonzon works through faith alone.

Difficult member: I have faith that turtles can fly.

SGI leader: No silly, faith in the Gohonzon.

Difficult member: The Gohonzon mandala or the Gohonzon as eternal Buddha-nature?

SGI leader: They are the same thing.

Difficult member: Then why did the Daishonin bother to inscribe and describe the Gohonzon mandala when he could have merely described the characteristics and function of the Buddha nature?
