That is a Photo of SGI President Daisaku Ikeda on Right side of Butsudan NOT Shakyamuni. When the similarly hung Ikeda's photo at North Hollywood Kaikon, I stopped attending meetings there for 5 years. When they hung a large photo of Ikeda at Northridge CC I asked The Headquarters Leader "Why did you hang Ikeda's Photo next to Gohonzon? He is not the Buddha!", The leader said, "We took a vote of the membership." I replied, "You don't get to vote. Only the Buddha sets the correct teaching and practice since he is the founder. Once you change the teachings and practice to accord with your own preference, it is no longer Buddhism but a new Religion of your own devising. I refer to what they practice as "Ikedaism" which has no relationship what-so-ever to Buddhism! KASHO

ReplyDeleteIkeda doesn't come close to neither Lord Buddha nor Nichiren Shonin nor Nichiju Shoshi.
They have absolutely no right nor have the vested powers to decide that Shakyamuni should be replaced by Ikeda....
This is traitory in its purest form.
And yet they wonder why no merits are bestowed upon them ......
