SGI's pentient for lying

The question really is why do you care. Do you expect that there be no story about SGI's history, do you expect it not to be in their favor?” — Clown

Of course it’s not in their favor. They have lied so much about their history. Is this where you developed your pentient for lying? Let me give you an example highlighted by Dave, another member of your pitiful cult:

“In the old Human Revolution, we hear the Nichiren Shoshu lie about the death of High Priest Nikkyo in 1945. The priests are porttrayed as heros who protested the erection of a Shinto Shrine in the Priest’s lodging which had been taken over by the government for war training.

“The Shumuin (administrative Bureau) repeatedly appealed on the basis of the legitimate doctrine of Nichiren Shoshu, requesting the removal of the Shinto Shrine.” (Vol.1, pg 209)

In 2000, after the excommunication, we got a more accurate account in “The Untold History of the Fuji School”. Actually, the Priests betrayed their own sect and requested that the Gakkai accept the Shinto talisman.

“This suggestion was made with the current and retired High Priests on hand as witnesses…President Makiguchi resolutely rejected the idea of accepting the Shinto Talisman and left the head temple. On the way home, he said to me, “What I lament is not that one sect will be ruined but that our nation will perish”. (pg. 120)

It goes on: “Twenty-one Soka Gakkai leaders were imprisoned solely because they refused to enshrine talismans of the Sun Goddess. At that time, many believers and priests at the head were shocked and at a loss as to what to do. When I heard about this, I was ashamed of them. President Makiguchi, myself and our followers were barred from visiting the head temple, and the whole country criticized our families as being enemies of the nation. Those were very strange days”. (pg.121)

Two totally different accounts. In one, the priests are heros, and in the other, villians who betrayed the teachings.

The death of the High Priest in the old HR is a complete fabrication.

“In the midst of the room, which had been completely burned away, was the body of sixty-second High Priest Nikkyo Shonin, sitting upright as if he were alive. Moreover, he was in full costume as the High priest of Nichiren Shoshu…(pg. 214)

The “Untold History” reports:

” A gruesome discovery was made in the charred ruins. High Priest Nikkyo was found dead-his lower body trapped in an open hearth…obesity combined with illness apparently hindered his escape”. (pg. 123) also: “before an assembly of believers,[chief executive] Nakajima referred to Nikkyo’s death as “a compassionate admonishment from the Daishonin…He acknowledged that a student priest caused the fire. Later, however, the priesthood distorted the facts. It announced that…the High Priest took responsibility for the fire and committed an honorable suicide.” (pg. 124)

This outrageous lie was reported faithfully in the old THR.

Nikkyo is portrayed as a hero who fought the unification of Nichiren Shoshu with another sect:

“He refused adamently but fearlessly to unite Nichiren Shoshu, which correctly inherits the righteous doctrine of Nichiren Daishonin, with the Minobu Sect or any other religious group which misinterprets the True Buddhism…His behavior resembled in some ways that of Nichiren Daishonin who defied the Kamakura government….Nikkyo Shonin must have taken upon himself all the trouble and difficulty caused by “Ikkoku Hobo” (entire nation slandering True Buddhism). What a noble act it was.” (PP.215-216)

So, there we have it. Toda knowingly perpetuating a Nichiren Shoshu lie that falsely glorifies the dead High Priest. Absolute rubbish.

But that is understandable from Toda’s perspective. He was a loyal follower of Nichiren Shoshu dedicated to supporting their doctrines…He hoped to eventually reform and correct the priesthood. He had pledged to maintain the harmonious unity of the believers.

Modern scholars have decided to simply write out the incorrect parts…but that’s impossible. It ignores the most important point-namely that the three presidents were complicit in the lies and myths of Nichiren Shoshu-and for good reason, I suppose.

So, we’re not facing the truth, but hiding from it. Studying the revised version of THR simply avoids this essential truth. Until we face that truth we can never understand the monstrous relationship between the Gakkai and the Shoshu.

Because I have taken this as my personal mission-the removal of Taisekiji lies from our teachings in their entirety-I sometimes over-react when I see us avoiding the issue.

I feel that by not facing this reality, we are depriving the Sophia Group from its essential role…to grasp the full meaning of THR. In fact, we are merely perpetuating myths. I deeply regret being unable to contribute to that discussion.

I can supply many other examples of similar distortions that need correction…but no one wants to begin the process.”

We are all too happy to point out SGI’s distortions and your’s in particular clown.
