SGI pseudo-Nichiren Buddhists Roberto Baggio and Tina Turner celebrate with the Dalai Lama

New Delhi - The Dalai Lama (pictured left), who has dedicated his life to the struggle for the independence of Tibet and for decades has lived in exile in India, will turn 60 years tomorrow. The spiritual leader of Tibetan Buddhists, regarded by the Chinese authorities a dangerous opponent for its international commitment, it celebrated with three days of celebrations.

The ceremonies in his honor attended by numerous personalities from the world of entertainment and sport who are fighting in the world in defense of human rights or that have embraced the Buddhist faith.The festivities were invited, among others, also American actors Harrison Ford and Richard Gere, the Italian footballer Roberto Baggio and rock singer Tina Turner.

The Dalai Lama's birthday will provide an opportunity to launch an appeal to the international community to put pressure on the authorities in Beijing.
