• "I am surprised by the delusional lack of understanding or perception in the comments to this article. The article itself state the obvious: That oligarchs survive by controlling the thoughts of their subjects. Whether it is Islamic fundamentalists; Morphed Soviet style bureaucrats; or corporate fascists (our particular affliction here in the USA) the rule is: control the thinking; and if that fails, bring in the military. 

  
  

  There has been absolutely no deviation from this policy in any of the major "powers" on this planet. Again, this includes our country. I cannot imagine how any American can think their interests are shared by the men who run this country; fly in private jets; never drive themselves, and carry no money in their pockets -- they have flunkies to pay for stuff.
