"Great Buddha in the sky" -- [sneering] SGI member

When you hear "Great Buddha in the sky", referring to Shakyamuni Buddha by a sneering SGI member, please remember its true meaning: SGI's "eternal mentor".

Believing that Daisaku Ikeda knows more about how to lead your life than you is "Great Buddha in the sky". Running to receive guidance from every Tom, Dick, and Shirley senior leader when your boss reprimands you in front of your colleagues at work too, is "Great Buddha in the sky". In a more general sense, "Great Buddha in the sky" is the authoritarian psuedo-Buddhist Soka Gakkai cult that would have you believe that it is more important than your life itself.
