In the light of the Lotus Sutra, both Nikken and Daisaku Ikeda are enemies of Buddhism.

SGI says Nikken resides in the Worlds of Animality and Anger. Nichiren Shoshu says he resides in the World of Buddhahood. Nichiren Shoshu teaches that Daisaku Ikeda resides in the realms of Animality and Anger and SGI asserts he resides in the realm of Buddha.

How can we judge who is correct, if only one or the other is correct, if both are coorect, or if both are wrong? Nichiren Daishonin teaches that it is very difficult to determine the reality of even mundane matters. How much more difficult the reality and portents of those pertaining to the Lotus Sutra and Buddhism. In the Opening of the Eyes, Nichiren teaches that those who follow in the footsteps of the votaries of the Lotus Sutra, Tientai, Dengyo, and Nichiren himself, are those capable of judging such matters. In the Selection of the Time, he teaches that we must borrow the "eye of the Buddha", and the "Sun of the Buddha" [Lotus Sutra] in order to judge teachings, doctrines, and individuals. In the light of the Lotus Sutra, both Nikken and Daisaku Ikeda are enemies of Buddhism.
