Both SGI and the Five Senior Priests have destroyed the teachings and their members.

They protect their members from persecution by altering and compromising the teachings. For example, SGI, interfaith compromises the teachings while, from a most superficial perspective, it "protects" the members. Unfortunately, not only do they destroy the teachings but they destroy their members ability to develop the hearts of a lion through persecution.
