This is little different than the Shingon worship of the Dharma Body of the Budda [if it were true that SGI worship the life state of the Buddha]. Who they really worship is the flesh and blood Daisaku Ikeda. The Three Bodied Tathagata Shakyamuni Buddha of the Original Doctrine, too, is flesh and blood but unlike Daisaku Ikeda, he is one with the Law
I’d like to hear this SGI member unpack this statement- re: “the essential life state of the Buddha”-/ what does this mean ??
ReplyDeleteConsider SGI. Is also saying “ everyone’s essential life state is Buddha”-/ NOT everyone has the potential to attain Buddhahood if the seed (daimoku) is correctly planted and nutured —
This statement seems to validate the self absorbed , self aggrandizement that is the signature SGI *self* promotion -/ “ We are all Buddhas — “
