"When I was in the Province of Sado between mountains and wilds far away from a village was a samadhi place called Tsukahara. There was a hall with a single room and four walls in that place. On the roof the boards did not meet and all four walls were ruined. In the rain it was like being outside and the snow piled up inside. There was no Buddha [image]. Neither was there a single reed tatami mat. However, I set up the statue of the Master of Teachings Lord Shakya which I kept from the beginning and grasped the Hokekyo in my hand, put on a straw raincoat and held up an umbrella, yet for four years nary a person appeared to give me food." -- Reply to the Bhikshuni Myoho", STN, v. 2, pg. 617.
And a statue no less. Nichiren would have been excommunicated from the phony misguided SGI
ReplyDeleteOf course you may place a non- obstructing statue of Shakyamuni Buddha and/or Nichiren on your altar or in your butsudan before the Gohonzon. You may also place paintings of Shakyamuni Buddha and Nichiren Daishonin near ot on your altar. Please remove your pictures of the slanderer, Ikeda.
DeleteI enjoy this post because it places their (SGI's) noses in the excrement of their slander.
Deletei would like to welcome an old friend to eagle peak...stephen milbern, cheers steve.
ReplyDeleteContrary to "Populist" Buddhism-- gratitude, praise and reverence for Shakyamuni is essential .
ReplyDeleteWhat is the reasonable, rational conduct of one who believes this threefold world is ALL Shakyamuni's domain and that he alone can rescue living beings....?
In other words, one who believes the Lotus Sutra, will naturally and consistently "worship Shakuamuni Buddha" as Nichiren taught.
