"Similarly, Robert Kisala collected survey data and conducted interviews with Gakkai members that, as he put it, demonstrated their “difficulty of maintaining the pacifist position without abandoning all engagement with society.” Kisala discovered that, due to practical dilemmas occasioned by Komeito’s political success and their then-comparatively recent cooperation with the Liberal Democrats on the 1992 Act on Cooperation for United Nations Peacekeeping Operations, or the PKO law, Soka Gakkai members were among the most willing of the peace-promoting religious practitioners he surveyed to allow for accommodations to an absolute pacifist stance." -- Levi McLaughlin
Since the SGI USA is composed predominantly of those who support a woman's right to choose, but they will never officially discuss how "a woman's right to choose" is compatible with "upholding the dignity of human life" (the banner cry of the Soka Gakkai). We see a similar situation with their former top woman's division leader who, for 20 years, had been a death sentence prosecutor. SGI's most important business partner is Mitsubishi which manufactures weapons of mass destruction. How is that compatible with their holier than though proclamation of always protecting the dignity of life and absolute pacificm?
