I took ill about three years ago and was hospitalized for 11 days and again 2 years ago for a week. I didn't have insurance during my original hospitalization and only Medicare for the subsequent hospitalization. I'm a General Practitioner and not a brain surgeon. I owed the hospital a considerable amount of money, ~ $50,000 dollars or more and do intend to pay them what I can afford now that I'm back on my feet. The courts rejected the hospital's request to garnish my salary. What a load has been lifted!
