"A year ago from this month, (middle of the month- can't remember the exact date) I did my final "free month" of SGI when I had the displeasure of meeting the national YWD Leader Vinessa Shaw. The arrogance of SGI and these women who haughtily came from somewhere USA to espouse guidance to the young women of my town was the biggest eye opener of my entire experience with SGI. They were so disrespectful towards all of those who had volunteered to do "free work" on their behalf. They had no time to even make eye contact much less light conversation. I lost an entire weekend putting up with their shenanigans and that's when I decided to fully divorce myself from SGI. So I will be celebrating a full year since I left SGI. The greatest joy from such an unpleasurable experience came when I found out that 3 members, one you could call a fortune baby who had just given birth to a child and going through issues of her own had given SGI the boot." -- KR
Is greg ok? I don't practice so much. I am not into zen buddhism or, sgi. Really hatin most religion, right about now. SGI has really hurt me. I Hope to survive a little longer. Glad you are. SGI people are ignoramuses and arrogant ignoramouses. SGI is falling apart, like scientology. i wish the nasty Christian stuff were too.
ReplyDeleteGreg, as do all votaries, has many obstacles. Since he is chanting many Daimoku he will overcome them. The important thing is to chant Namu Myoho renge kyo every day, study the Lotus Sutra, and the writings of Nichiren, especially the Five Major Works. Then we can discuss the teachings.
ReplyDeleteI am studying the lotus sutra now, more than I have. I was not involved with sgi so much. Simply badly burned in a marriage with an SGI member. You would never know of me. I feel like the Lotus Sutra will help me now and help me, reach my one young adult offspring at this point, in a time of great change for me and that offspring. Perhaps it is the only salvation. Thankyou for your help.
ReplyDeleteYou made my day. Maintaining your positive attitude, the wonderment of the Lotus Sutra will appear before your eyes. A time of great change? In what way?
ReplyDeleteA family ripped apart by hate and anger with a lot of death and a young kid torn to pieces in a severe accident.
ReplyDeleteHate and anger can kill a whole family in one foul swoop. I was a health provider like you. I have seen somenof these things. I am not as strong as you are . I am not as accomplished or smart or learned as you are. I can tell you have a very good heart . I can tell you have been through things too.
I can tell you have witnessed and experienced unbelievable tragedy and miraculous renewal. Thankyou I once saw three generations of a family, wiped out in hate, anger and dysfunction in 2 months. Cancer, trauma, and suicide. I know that the spirituality of the lotus sutra will renew. Sometimes you come to a crossroad
Leonardo Shonin. Please remember, "the journey from Kamakura to Kyoto takes twelve days. If you travel for eleven but stop with only one day remaining, how can you admire the moon over the capital? No matter what, stay close to the priest (Nichiren) who knows the heart of the Lotus Sutra, keep learning from him the principles of Buddhism, and continue your journey of faith."
ReplyDeleteThankyou
ReplyDeleteThank you too!
