Some years ago, Greg Martin, SGI-USA study chief admitted in one of his Video lectures that SGI Buddhism is a Buddhism unto itself (not Nichiren's Lotus Sutra Buddhism). I believe that he was soundly reprimanded by the higher ups and didn't have the courage of his convictions. He never once again asserted this truth.
