Look ; You use the scripture in “ Hyperbole “ If you could put examples of your own life in to your argument you could circumnavigate this

And we would be more equal. You have never been “patted “ spent a week with the reek of the dead of Fukushima in your nostrils every time you opened your butsudan doors .. Let us hear about you using the practice, for victory in illaraza own life instead of the hyperboles

I would bore you with so many examples eddie. I can start with avoiding near certain death five times, the fortune of having found again my beloved wife, children, and animals, and most of all, my faith in Gohonzon, the Lotus Sutra, Shakyamuni Buddha, and Nichiren.

Nichiren talked about winning and losing ["victory or defeat"] in several writings but never at the expense of honesty, honor, and leading an ethical life. In one writing he states, "However wretched a beggar you might become, never disgrace the Lotus Sutra" and in another, "Rather than be the chief priest of the Tendai school, it is better to be a leper who chants Nam-myoho-renge-kyo!"

There are no guarantees in life. Winning is to never disgrace the Lotus Sutra even if one becomes a wretched beggar.
