Karma is a law or principle which functions akin to gravity. One can believe it or fail to believe it but it still functions the exact same way. Jump off a building, believe or fail to believe in gravity, and you will fall to your physical death. Have evil thoughts, words, and/or perform evil deeds, whether you believe in karma or don't believe in karma and you fall to your spiritual death. Likewise, Roman aqueducts utilize gravity to bring water to the people and utilizing the chanting and sharing of Namu Myo renge kyo brings the water of the Law to the people.
