The Four Bodhisattva Vows

“Defilements are countless*; I vow to put an end to them.”

  1. Sgi is the most evil cult on earth

  2. there is an undeniable propensity to "belong to a group"; "to be dependent on leaders and "authoritarianism" amongst common mortals living in mappo. even some who break free of sgi, turn around and start their own "groups"-- or proclaim themselves "superior" to other believers. mappo is a 10,000 year + proposition, would be surprised if the karmic impediments resulting from "greed, anger and stupidity" weren't playing out. foolish, imo, to just attack the organization that began spreading the daishonin's teachings in America around 1960. maybe look at why it proves so difficult for even those who chant daimoku to respect fellow believers... that's a really big obstacle to "securing the peace of the land".

  3. Good point. Organizations are formed and proliferate because people want and/or need them. Authoritarian regimes are on the rise in the world these days, along with the demonizing of "others"... However, regardless of their flaws and weaknesses, the SGI still promotes chanting the daimoku and some members will naturally discover the beauty and simplicity of an independent practice...

  4. You speak of non-duality without even understanding the Buddhist doctrine of duality. You call SGI believers and yourself, for example, "believers" but you abandon those teachings you don't like as no longer applicable. You are not a believer and I have contempt for your shallow viewpoint.

    1. So, you think my daimoku, anyone's daimoku does not constitute "belief" in the ESSENTIAL teaching? Your contempt is noted as is the significance of your lack of understanding of what the word, ESSENTIAL means.

  5. For those who are seeking Nichiren's doctrines, the Kanjin Honzon-sho, NOPPA translation is a complete treatise, extant in Nichiren's own hand.

  6. Lets just throw away the other four Major Works, the opening of the Eyes and Establishing the Correct Law for the Peace of the Land. The Kanjin hojnzon sho is the Treue Object of Devotion in terms of the Law while the Opening of the Eyes is the True Object of Worship in terms of the Eternal Buddha.

  7. That is your opinion, sir. The Eternal Buddha, The Law and the Gohonzon are all explained in the Kanjin Honzon-sho. It would appear that some overlook it because it does not lend itself to "personal interpretations". However, I have not and would not suggest authenticated treatises by Nichiren should be "thrown away". Your rhetoric is cringe-worthy.

  8. Regarding your false claim that I overlook it:

  9. Your constant false accusations are proof of what you overlook, sir. You might want to reread the opening paragraphs of the Kaimoku-sho. Nichiren references writings by worthy men that address "correct human behavior"(Confucious- etc.) Every world religion has similar teachings that are guidelines for virtuous conduct. As a person who finds it difficult to adhere to any standard of "proper conduct", I fear you have abandoned the opening paragraphs of the Kaimoku-sho.

  11. “It would appear that some overlook it…” is what I said- there is no accusation levied against you in that statement.
Likewise, correction for your accusing me of “ throwing away..” any Major Writing- a preposterous notion!
You point out that Nichiren’s doctrines are fundamental for developing a correct mind of faith —- I shared the single treatise that completely explains Nichiren’s doctrines — the Buddha, the Law/ teaching/ the Gohonzon - true object of worship.

  12. hey blogger, in your haste to degrade those who disagree with you , seems you don’t bother to read/ understand their comments! thoughtless, careless, totally disrespectful conduct on your part.
