How Many Nuclear Missiles Can the United States Intercept by Bulgarian astrophysic professor Ivan Stepanov

The Russian anti- long range ballistic missile system, very different than ours, blowing up incoming missiles by another nuke is ridiculously stupid. Since an EMP would follow, would destroy Russian communications and fallout would kill many of their own people.
