I wonder if Marty, Tanya, and Katie think that...

...it is OK for the 200 MALE (cause their ain't no female) Japanese Vice Presidents and General Directors of the Soka Gakkai to earn mid six figure salaries to do the same thing (promote Ikedaism) that Tanya and Marty do for free? I bet you didn't know that by tradition, laymen are not to accept donations (alms). These men get me sick (and no, I'm not jealous of falling into hell).

  2. Capitalism isn’t voluntary.
    Organized religion is voluntary.
If you want to worship with others in nice facilities, you should chip in some $, or rather, that’s how I view giving money or my time to SGI.
I’ll let leaders and members work out their own karma chanting daimoku and change poisons : greed, anger and stupidity, to medicine.
I wouldn’t be one of those greedy karma laden reeds and for that, I’m grateful. So I chant for them to keep chanting.
Now, can you respect my view? And not hurl the insults?
I’m where I am with my karma. If you’re honest you know you have karma to change. So, why not just be grateful you don’t have my karma and glad that I will always chant daimoku ?

  4. cults are popular in the latter day = all cults end badly. especially the ones that go against the law. having a devil for a parent, according to nichiren, is a extremely shameful path.

  5. Well, there you have it, contributions to a religious organization are voluntary and individual concepts of what that means are the norm. Yet we don’t get to decide exactly how our tax dollars are spent either, BTW.
Buddhism boils down to the individual challenging their own karma . Specifically, the Lotus Sutra is not a rule based, precept focused teaching for “ controlling the people “ - which is the case for all other religions, but a guide for individual growth and development that influences others and the environment. Less than one tenth of the way thru Mappo, there is evidence of progress within and amongst all Nichiren sects. An undeniable fact that seems to anger Mark and Greg. For others, this is deeper faith in daimoku, which at the last moment of our lives is a cherished goal amongst all believers.
This is how a discussion unfolds…
I note that Mark simply ignored Marty’s contribution .
