"One must expect nothing from it." -- Lotus Sutra

This means that absolute truth requires no affirmation. It is thus. The Three Proofs too are thus, no expectations required. Expectations, "hope", contrary to the teachings of Daisaku Ikeda, demonstrate a lack of faith. Hope denotes a lack of certainty, a lack of faith.
