"I call myself Nichiren because I alone understand the One Buddha Vehicle" (Kempon Hokke translation.)
The latest SGI translation is an improvement over the Nichiren Shoshu/SGI agenda laden Major Writing's translation:
"My giving myself the name Nichiren [Sun Lotus] derives from my own enlightenment regarding the Buddha vehicle."
