Lets just say for arguments sake that we are indeed absolutely equal to Shakyamuni Buddha, a Three Bodied Tathagata supremely and perfectly Enlightened since time without beginning. Therefore, we living Buddhas. Why do we need a living mentor? We yourselfves would have been mentor to more beings than there are grains of sand on all the planets and moons in the visible universe. We are eminently capable as we are without the Ikeda crutch. Those who believe differently lack faith.
