"His [Nichiren's] ideas are thought to have a certain amount of influence on the tendency to value the effort to deal with concrete societal problems seen in new religions related to the Lotus Sutra in contemporary Japanese society." -- Hiroshi Kanno Senior Research Fellow, the Institute of Oriental Philosophy Professor, Soka University
