When a man (or woman) can no longer feed their children, they will resort to any means necessary. Fortunately, the Lotus Sutra (Myoho renge kyo) guarantees food, clothing, and shelter for those who chant Namu Myoho renge kyo in the morning and evening.
The dilemma...Should the breadwinner die, the state will have to take over the care of the children. The worse consequence is returning back to work too early. Better the state look after both children and the parent(s) until we have a vaccine or supply the workers with adequate personal protective equipment (PPE). Then the family will be able to enjoy being together without anyone having to worry about catching and spreading the virus. Is a 1-3% fatality rate worth the chance (up to 18% with the elderly and those with comorbid conditions)? We know that the poor, particularly African Americans and Latin Americans have more comorbid conditions than the white majority. That is probably why they die at a higher rate. Also, the poor predominately live in overcrowded large cities where the level of pollution is greater. I imagine, to the wealthy republicans, these people are expendable.
