I was riding my bicycle home night before last . I HAD A small , gas jug that had 3 oz of gasoline . BOUGHo IT TO CLEAN bicycle parts. My back pack was full of bike parts.
4 cops swooped in and pushed me into a parking lot with their cruisers. I was shaking so hard I thought I would have a seizure. The woman pulled her gUN on me told me to put the gas can and backpack down slowly a. me SHE ASKED ME if I was on meth becauseZ I was shaking so bad. I showed her my epilepsy bracelet. I cannot drive because of epilepsy.she asked me what is in the jug. I said a little gas to clean the derailer in my back for my other bicycle. She said I was probably going to burn someone's house down with the gasoline. Three other cops came up. My property manager came by and told them.i am disabled and work on bikes. They had to let me go. Cop confrontations like that can end in death homelessness from treat and maiming. What an evil country murican is.

My recent run-in with the Government was no less disturbing. They took away my ability to prescribe controlled substances such as opiods, benzodiazepines, amphetamines (diet pills), Testosterone, etc and they took away my ability to accept medicaid and medicare. They ook away my Oklahoma narcotic license and my DEA. Fortunately they did not take away my license to practice medicine.
In 35 years, I have had but 2 (bipolar) patients die of an overdose of opiods or benzodiazepines. Certainly, psychiatrists practicing for 35 years have many more patients die of an overdose of psychactive drugs (antidepressants and antipsychotics). I never ever got rich from prescribing narcotics as a salaried physician and when i lost my medicare and medicaid, 35 dollars per patient who required opiods and/or benzodiazepams to function, to take care of their activities of daily living. The ones they hurt were my patients for which saddened me immensely.
Myself, my wife, patients and patient friends believe it was for the following: I am a Buddhist in the Bible belt and my writings reflects my antipathy for the evil religion of Christianity and my conversion efforts; Jealousy of other doctors in my area who were getting rich from their pain management practice (losing patients to me) and the love and praise I receive from my patients...reporting me for some fabricated indiscretions; the general atmosphere and tone of the government due to the opiod epidemic. Though we were as careful as possible to prevent diversion of narcotics, I'm sure that one in a hundred patients, especially during the covid epidemic, diverted their medicines in order to supplement their income to feed their children and family. Never knew of such but of course it existed. And their were two cases of undercover patients with relatively mild issues who I prescribed relatively low dose hydrocodone (7.5 milligrams 3x/day) and who stated that tramadol did nothing for their pain.
Anyway, i continue to do well and we are not only surviving but thriving.
