“However, later seeking and entering the deep cave, you see a single hermitage. The voices of the reading and reciting of the Hokekyo echo against blue heaven and the words of discussing the doctrine of the One Vehicle are heard in the midst of the mountains. Informing [them, of your presence and requesting] admittance, you enter the chamber, place your mother’s bones before the Master of Teachings Lord Shakya, cast your five limbs to the ground, press your palms together, and opening your two eyes, look up to the Holy Face: Joy overflows your body and the pain of your heart suddenly ceases.”(On Forgetting Ones Copy Of The Lotus Sutra, NOPPA Translation)
Do your prayers for the Three Presidents cause the pain in your heart to cease?
Chanting the daimoku causes the pain in my heart to ease—- from day one 34 years ago !
ReplyDelete100 % - regardless of affiliation with SGI, NST or the infamous blogger, Mark Rogow!
Your scandalous remarks, Mark, simply demonstrate how little faith you have in the essential teaching— which causes concern that it is you who is “ spitting in the face of the Eternal Buddha”.
Simply stated: the perfect teaching for the “ ignorant” as in “ not knowing “ people of this age, entrusted to Nichiren by the Buddha, does not require supplication to anyone. Nichiren’s posture toward the Buddha is within the context of Nichiren’s relationship to Shakyamuni, which prefaced Nichiren’s total confidence in propagating it.
You are diminishing both the significance of Nichiren’s teachings on the Buddha and his establishing a depiction of the eternal Buddha for the “ ignorant people” Shakyamuni vowed to save. Nichiren never says the Gohonzon itself is more important than the daimoku or that without Gohonzon, perfect enlightenment is not attainable.
“ get off your throne and promote the daimoku” see Dave’s admonition.

“Conclusion— Salvation through the Odaimoku”: Kanjin Honzon-sho- Not a word about supplication to anything but the Law—/ emphasis on for “ the ignorant in the Katter Age of Degeneration “
ReplyDeleteCareful reading/ study of this major writing clarifies the @pergect teaching/ the Eternal Buddha, the Law and Gohonzon are ONE and the same.

strictly speaking, chanting Myoho renge kyo is “ worshipping the Eternal Buddha”— the perfect, complete teaching is One with the Eternal Buddha.
ReplyDeleteSGI is not spitting in the Buddha’s face, but your continually dismissing the profundity of the essential practice may indicate you haven’t yet been able to believe the essential teaching. ignoring the most excellent accomplishment of the Buddha, you are demeaning Him.
prefect! even the buddha admonished his disciples to follow the law. be a light unto yourself. have faith in the teaching which is one with the eternal buddha. its so straight forward and simple.
