Are you saying that you signed each and every post of yours? If so, the best that I can do is please list anything you didn't write that I attributed to you and I will change it. I wish that everyone would sign their "Anonymous" or "Uknown posts", even if it is a false name, just so I know who wrote what. I can not address every comment, there are too many and I have a life. If by all means you wish me to post it, I will. Please sign it and ask me to post it to be sure it is placed in the comments or the wished it to be posted.

 Ukraine’s President Zelensky was elected by 70% of voters and currently has full support of the people he serves. The majority of Americans are engaged in preserving our democracy and preventing a corrupt minority from destroying our precious rights and freedoms, literally, from a fascist movement. Dead people no longer support anyone. There are terrible leaders around the world elected by 80% of the populace and lets not forget many elections are corrupt. Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. My view is that one live Ukrainian is far more valuable than 500 dead Ukrainians, regardless of the nature of their leaders. All people in Mappo are stained with the Three Poisons and few are supremely and Perfectly Enlightened. Nichiren teaches about the majority:

"The truth of Buddhism has nothing to do with the opinion of the majority. All that is important is whether a belief is in accord with the scriptures. And, further, the golden words of the Buddha have already informed us that in the age of the Latter Day of the Law those who uphold the Right Dharma would be few in number. Thus the Nirvana Sutra says that "those who uphold the Right Dharma are as few as the grains of earth on a fingernail, and those that slander the Dharma are as numerous as the earth in of all the ten directions".

If you are of the same mind as Nichiren, you must be a Bodhisattva of the Earth. This person is obviously unaware of what Nichiren teaches. Even the Soka Gakkai members and leaders claim for themselves to be votaries of the Lotus Sutra though they fail to follow Nichiren.

It is to be expected. Compared to Nichiren and Shakyamuni Buddha, I am loved by everyone. Nichiren writes in the Opening of the Eyes:

"One who has not conceived a desire for the way can never free oneself from the sufferings of birth and death. Shakyamuni Buddha, the lord of teachings, was cursed by all the followers of non-Buddhist teachings and labeled as a man of great evil. The Great Teacher T’ien-t’ai was regarded with intense enmity by the three schools of the south and seven schools of the north, and Tokuitsu of Japan criticized him for using his three-inch tongue to try to destroy the five-foot body of the Buddha. The Great Teacher Dengyō was disparaged by the priests of Nara, who said, “Saichō has never been to the capital of T’ang China!” But all of these abuses were incurred because of the Lotus Sutra, and they are therefore no shame to the men who suffered them. To be praised by fools—that is the greatest shame. Now that I, Nichiren, have incurred the wrath of the authorities, the priests of the Tendai and True Word schools are no doubt delighted. They are strange and shameless men."{

Someone asked why I promote myself as an authority

First of all I don't promote myself as an authority. Nichiren is the authority of the Lotus Sutra. He teaches that one should preach with Sutra in hand In the Opening of the Eyes:

I must observe sadly that, although it would be simple enough to point out the error of the views propounded by these men, if I did so, the people of today would not even look in my direction. They would go on in their erroneous ways and, in the end, would slander me to the ruler of the country and put my life in jeopardy. Nevertheless, our merciful father Shakyamuni Buddha, when he faced his end in the grove of sal trees, stated as his dying instructions that we are to “rely on the Law and not upon persons.”167 “Not relying upon persons” means that when persons of the first, second, third, and fourth ranks168 preach, even though they are bodhisattvas such as Universal Worthy and Manjushrī who have attained the stage of near-perfect enlightenment, if they do not preach with the sutra in hand, then they are not to be accepted.

And

“It is also laid down that one should “rely on sutras that are complete and final and not on those that are not complete and final.” We must therefore look carefully among the sutras to determine which are complete and final and which are not, and put our faith in the former. Bodhisattva Nagarjuna in his Commentary on the Ten Stages Sutra states, “Do not rely on treatises that distort the sutras; rely on those that are faithful to the sutras.” The Great Teacher T’ien-t’ai says, “That which accords with the sutras is to be written down and made available. But put no faith in anything that in word or meaning fails to do so.” The Great Teacher Dengyo says, “Depend upon the preachings of the Buddha, and do not put faith in traditions handed down orally.” Enchin, also known as the Great Teacher Chisho, says, ‘In transmitting the teachings, rely on the written words [ofscriptures]. ‘”

In The Selection of the Time, he writes:

“The Buddha says determining the future, “Depend upon the teaching, not upon the people. Bodhisattva Nagarjuna says, “If one depends upon the scripture it is a correct argument; if one does not depend upon the scripture it is an incorrect argument.” T’ien-t’ai says, “Again, if it conforms to the scripture, quote and use it. If there is no corresponding sentence or corresponding meaning, then one should not believe and accept. ” Dengyo says, “Depend upon what the Buddha taught, not upon the oral tradition.” If one follows these scriptures, treatises and commentaries, then one should not base oneself on dreams. Once should only treasure the passages in the scriptures and treatises…”

Think to yourself, is one preaching with Sutra and Gosho in hand? Whether its me or someone else preaching, one should accept what is in accord with the scriptures and reject what is not. One can be assured that the person is preaching with sutra in hand if the person is Nichiren. Anyone else, including me, may or may not be preaching  with Sutra in hand.

Tell that to the Atsuhara martyrs, Aryasimha, Nikkyo the Martyr and his two disciples, Nisshin the Potheaded monk, and the many thousands of Nichiren disciples murdered by the Tientai warrior monks.

Nichiren writes in the concluding paragraph of On Practicing the Buddha's Teachings:

"Life flashes by in but a moment. No matter how many terrible enemies we may encounter, banish all fears and never think of backsliding. Even if someone were to cut off our heads with a saw, impale us with lances, or shackle our feet and bore them through with a gimlet, as long as we are alive, we must keep chanting Nam-myoho-renge-kyo, Nam-myoho-renge-kyo. Then, if we chant until the very moment of death, Shakyamuni, Taho and all other Buddhas in the universe will come to us instantly, exactly as they promised during the ceremony at Eagle Peak. Taking our hands and bearing us upon their shoulders, they will carry us to Eagle Peak. The two saints, the two heavenly gods, and the Ten Goddesses will guard us, while all the Buddhist gods raise a canopy over our heads and unfurl banners on high. They will escort us under their protection to the Buddha land. How can such joy possibly be described! Namu-myoho-renge-kyo, Namu-myoho-renge-kyo.

Nichiren performing the forceful practices in Establishing the Correct Law for the Peace of the Land

"The Benevolent Kings Sutra states: “If persons destroy the teachings of the Buddha, they will have no filial sons, no harmony with their six kinds of relatives,54 and no aid from the heavenly deities and dragons. Disease and evil demons will come day after day to torment them, disasters will descend on them incessantly, and misfortunes will dog them wherever they go. And when they die, they will fall into the realms of hell, hungry spirits, and animals. Even if they should be reborn as human beings, they will be destined to become soldiers or slaves. Retribution will follow as an echo follows a sound, or a shadow follows a form. Someone writing at night may put out the lamp, but the words he has written will still remain. It is the same with the effect of the deeds we perform in the threefold world.”

The second volume of the Lotus Sutra says, “If a person fails to have faith but instead slanders this sutra . . . When his life comes to an end he will enter the Avīchi hell.” And in the “Never Disparaging” chapter in the seventh volume, it says, “For a thousand kalpas they underwent great suffering in the Avīchi hell.”

In the Nirvana Sutra, we read: “If a person separates himself from good friends, refuses to listen to the correct teaching, and instead embraces evil teachings, then as a result he will sink down into the Avīchi hell, where the size of his body will become eighty-four thousand yojanas in total length and breadth.”

When we examine this wide variety of sutras, we find that they all stress how grave a matter it is to slander the correct teaching. How pitiful that people should all go out of the gate of the correct teaching and enter so deep into the prison of these distorted doctrines! How stupid that they should fall one after another into the snares of these evil doctrines and remain for so long entangled in this net of slanderous teachings! They lose their way in these mists and miasmas, and sink down amid the raging flames of hell. How could one not grieve? How could one not suffer?

Therefore, you must quickly reform the tenets that you hold in your heart and embrace the one true vehicle, the single good doctrine [of the Lotus Sutra]. If you do so, then the threefold world will become the Buddha land, and how could a Buddha land ever decline? The regions in the ten directions will all become treasure realms, and how could a treasure realm ever suffer harm? If you live in a country that knows no decline or diminution, in a land that suffers no harm or disruption, then your body will find peace and security, and your mind will be calm and untroubled. You must believe my words; heed what I say!"

Some things for the English speaker to know what Nichiren actually taught

Knowing the truth of what Nichiren actually said is complicated by translations with a certain sects bent; whether or not they use the Gosho Zenshu, or gosho collection written in the modern Japanese and translations as the SGI or a Nichiren Shoshu, or whether they utilize the original collections of the writings, the Showa Tehon collection which all scholars and scholar priests utilize. Even here, the English translations may have a Nichiren Shu bent (therefore, one would do well to read all the available translations, if possible and especially, the five Major Writings); and lastly, the problem with apochrypha or pious forgeries. The very best article in English was Dr. Jacqueline Stone of Princeton PHD dissertation, Some disputed writings in the Nichiren corpus: Textual, hermeneutical and historical problems." University of California, Los Angeles, 1990. Dr stone also was the principle translator for the SGI Writings of Nichiren Daishonin. She admitted later that her SGI translation was not equal to academic standards, ie: They were based in the modern Gosho Zenshu and not the Showa Tehon. 

The Showa Tehon has several parts: the Gosho definitely in Nichiren's hand and colophon; those probably in Nichiren's hand (in complete agreement with the corpus in Nichiren's hand, appropriate for the time period in which Nichiren wrote, and Nichiren's sentence structure and syntax, as determined by computer analysis, matched Nichiren's writings and were discovered early; Gosho probably not authentic, those having different structure and syntax and the teachings/principles are not in accord with the evolution of Nichiren's thought, and they were discovered late; and those definitely not authentic writings, like the Ongi Kuden and The True Aspect of all Phenomena (some parts added to the Shoho Jisso Sho), Conversations Between a Sage and an Unenlightened Man and dozens of others. Those definitely not authentic writings may have incidents that Nichiren reported that occurred after he died and all the other anomalies sighted above.

A lot to digest, I know. but to know what Nichiren actually taught, these principles are important to accurately ascertain what really are The Three Great Secret Laws and the Three Treasures of Nichiren Lotus Sutra Buddhism. Of course, the illiterate Atsuhara martyrs knew nothing of the above, they only chanted the Daimoku. However, todays disciples and believers are almost all literate.

In a nutshell, what is wrong with the Soka Gakkai and the Nichiren Shoshu?

Is SGI a cult? Does it matter?   --   Cult Warning Signs in SGI

1. Authority without accountability. Soka Gakkai claims to have absolute authority with regard to Nichiren Buddhism; Nichiren Buddhism can only be correctly practiced if one is a member of SGI. Daisaku Ikeda is promoted by SGI to be the foremost authority on Nichiren Buddhism for the modern age. But SGI provides no accountability — members have no control over their leaders and have no mechanism by which to affect the policies and procedures of their organization.

2. No tolerance for questions or critical inquiry. There are no opportunities to publicly question or critique the teachings of SGI in organizational publications. Critiquing SGI at small discussion meetings may be tolerated to a degree, but this behavior is called “negativity” and is discouraged.

3. No meaningful financial disclosure and no independently audited financial statement. Media reports and property tax records confirm that Soka Gakkai is a multi-billion dollar religious corporation. SGI refuses to disclose its finances even to members and donors who request this information. SGI has publicly maligned members who have pressed for financial disclosure.

4. Unreasonable fear about evil conspiracies and persecutions. Ikeda and his followers have denounced as “evil” a rival group called Nichiren Shoshu, and urged SGI members to fight this so-called devilish influence. SGI has sponsored prayer vigils focused on the destruction of Nichiren Shoshu and the demise of its leader, Nikken. SGI has also assigned at least one paid staff member to follow and spy on Nichiren Shoshu priests. Why? SGI claims that Nichiren Shoshu is out to destroy SGI.

5. The belief that former members are always wrong in leaving SGI. Former members often relate similar stories of being pressured to embrace certain beliefs, to say only positive things about SGI and to participate in fund raising, recruitment and public relations campaigns. Former members have a similar grievances regarding SGI: too much emphasis on the “evil” of Nichiren Shoshu, too much adulation of Daisaku Ikeda and too little emphasis on the teachings of Nichiren Buddhism. SGI leaders tell members that former members are deluded, cannot be trusted and should be avoided.

6. Dependence upon SGI guidance and activities for problem solving, solutions, and definitions without meaningful reflective thought. When SGI members are confronted with a problem, they are urged to seek “guidance” from local SGI leaders or to read guidance from Ikeda. Members are urged to recruit more members and participate in more SGI activities in order to have a “breakthrough” and solve their problems. If the problem is resolved, leaders are quick to claim that participation in SGI activities provides mystical benefits. If the problem is not resolved the member is often advised to make a greater commitment to SGI and “connect” with Ikeda’s heart.

7. Anything that SGI does can be justified, no matter how questionable or harmful. SGI members are good at making excuses for the shortcomings of their organization. “We’re still in our infancy — we’ve only been in America for a little over 30 years — mistakes are to be expected,” they say. “We are only human. Of course we make mistakes.” “We are fulfilling an important mission, so even if people are hurt by our activities, it will all work out for the best in the end.” “If people are hurt by our organization it is due to their karma, not ours.” “People are afraid of SGI not because we are deceptive and manipulative, but because we represent a real challenge to the status quo. People can’t handle the truth and justice we represent.” The list of excuses for bad behavior goes on and on.

8. SGI members are afraid. SGI members have been indoctrinated with a litany of fears: fear of visiting temples or investigating other forms of Buddhism, fear of not chanting enough or skipping gongyo, fear of contradicting the SGI, fear of listening to or entertaining criticism of the SGI, fear of chanting to the “wrong” Gohonzon, fear of leaving the SGI. SGI members fear that these things will invite severe “mystical” punishment such as financial hardship, illness, family strife, loss of a romantic relationship, getting fired from a job or a horrible, agonizing death.
