  1. Mark, not to long ago you posted Blanche about the name change over to the Ikeda Center (Harvard). Upon further examination, and do I understand her clearly, she threw out the "baby" - the Daishonin's Buddhism in it's totality, along with the spent "water" - SGI.......after 20 years of practice? You, on the other hand, experienced SOMETHING - something worthy of further investigation - you must have had an experience of some sort or a strong premonition. If I made-up my own Gohonzon and concoted a mantra, cast a hypnotic spell on someone, in other words a completely powerless practice, I doubt anyone could fool themselves very long to continue. 20 years is a long time to be fooled. Reading all the explanations of such a duration, I just can't believe that SOMETHING significant, even at a subliminal level wasn't prodding her along. The amount of energy the two of you spend, you to seek and teach the correct teaching, and her to console the disenfranchised, tells me that this Buddhism has really made profound inroads to the depths of peoples lives. That tells me a whole lot.

  2. I'm just grateful and perhaps fortunate that there may be an enhanced version of what we thought to be the ultimate....so that all is not lost, but that it may have been necessary to get to and realize this point. Bernie M. is a good example, but we learned from THEIR loss, they on the other hand, can't even console themselves - the disenfranchised........rw

  3. Correct. Nichiren teaches that that we have to encounter the Three Obstacles and Four Devils in order to obtain Buddhahood.
