No where in the writings of Nichiren Daishonin is confidence [as in self confidence] mentioned or discussed. SGI and all New Age teachings stress confidence ["self confidence"]. Nichiren, on the other hand, stresses faith which he discusses more than five hundred times. True confidence is faith in the Law, the Buddha, the True Votary of the Lotus Sutra, universal Buddha-nature, and the eternal nature of our lives. Don't confuse SGI or New Age with the Lotus Sutra Buddhism of Nichiren Daishonin.
