You have a choice

For many years, SGI members had no choice. They were taught and insulated by their leaders that only SGI chants Namu Myoho renge kyo, only SGI embraces the Gohonzon, only SGI propagates the true Law, only SGI upholds the principle of mentor and disciple, only SGI this, only SGI that. Now that these lies have been exposed, you know you have a choice. Do not be afraid to exercise this choice. Ask questions, ask ten thousand questions, if you have that many. Buy or receive free literature. Try the various Nichiren Lotus Sutra practices, try them all. Believe in Shakyamuni as Original Eternal Buddha. Study the Lotus Sutra and the writings of Nichiren as you studied the Human Revolution and the Wisdom of the Lotus Sutra. Go to your friends house who practices independently and if you can't find one, come to my house, all are welcome. Stay a weekend, lodging and food is on us. Bring benadryl if you are allergic to dogs or we will board them for you. Call ahead so we are aware of your dietary needs.

An eternal life of purity, bliss, and true identity, will not come to you. You have to seek it out. If, for one reason or another, you are not joyful, not fortunate, not aware, are fed up with hypocrisy, hierarchies, things that don't feel quite right to you, or you are seeking an adventure or change, you have a choice. Nichiren, fortunately did not appoint one sole successor. There is not one completely correct way to practice Nichiren Lotus Sutra Buddhism. Who will you find to be the most genuine friends? Which friends will support you no matter what? Who will answer all of your questions? Who is it that actually will respect your input and will entertain your constructive criticisms? Who wants to join a vibrant growing Sangha of independents rather than one in decline?
